We the community are legion CCP. We have helped build DUST and stuck by it from the early mess until the current mess. We believed your "future vision." We believed our feedback was valued. We believed our real world currency and time investments were actually investments. We believed in the game. We believed in CCP.
Now we see that you did as well. Only the feeling was not mutual. All the grand ideas, all the hype, it was all real. It just didn't include the player base that helped you develop DUST to Legion.
I spent countless hours defending your company, because I saw the dream as it was presented. Now, I am done defending your decisions. You had a wonderful community of BETA testers in your DUST 514 community. As I said, we were legion, and we were invested.
CCP, you are like the crew of a passenger ship that sailed directly in to an ice berg and then abandoned ship before telling the hapless idiots who had purchased tickets, or who were along for the ride, that they were doomed. You took the life boats and boarded another ship, a similar ship which you had sent to meet you at the ice berg. While our ship is sinking we can only wonder why the other ship looks so similar, and so enticing.
I will not bite the carrot and board it however. You played us like fools and our legion looks the fool.
My EVE subscription has been canceled (loyal since 2006) and I will do whatever I can to get people to do the same. The DUST community was brilliant, hopeful, invested. It was wonderful. Now, I hope that it turns sour. Sour to the point that it becomes bitter and vile. I am going to try to burn the legion in to taking the fight to you. To strike back.
My address to mercs is this:

This is what you have done CCP. This is the feelings of one you have betrayed.
That is not all I have to say on the matter, but I digress. If I continued it would only be to lament the vision I had for DUST 514. |

I agree, I have a lot more free time now. Guess what I can pc game now. I'll start by wrecking this place, contacting everyone (and I mean everyone) at Sony. Create social media id's on every outlet including all those precious eve-centric ones and use every bit of energy and effort as I've put into testing this game into tearing their image down by simply telling the truth. The net is full of CCP double talk on this game and the issues people are pissed about Google is all you need to kill them.

I felt the same way until I watched all the material from FanFest.
DUST 514 has always been dead. We have been waiting for CCP to stimulate it in to being with real and meaningful updates such as PVE missions, true market, new game types, all vehicles, etc.
The real betrayal here is not FanFest announcement of Legion. It is the fact that this has been going on for some time. They never committed to DUST, as evidenced by the lack of a real game release. It was never finished. This is just the evidence that that mindset of abandonment has been real and purposeful.
It is just a symptom of the problem.
I hope I can reply with a little less tongue and cheek speech adaptation from Winston Churchill's beaches speech and still be found correct.
DUST 514 never got a fair shake, despite the investment of the players.
