I'm not really sure where to put this, but just wanted to put this out somewhere...
as they are playing with the idea (if this gets the 'green light' of course) of transferring skills and assets or some form of these onto legion, would it be an idea to offer it onto an existing eve toon. so rather than have a separate eve toon and legion toon, I can get my dust skill points and assets placed on my eve toon?
just an idea and something I was thinking about...

this is of course going by one of the last talks where you have one toon for eve/valk/legion and swap between games with that 1 toon

Thats just not possible as EVE skill points are not equatable to dust skill points. especially when it dust doesnt cost anything to get these skills, unlike eve.

Sounds like a good idea, but I don't think it would be healthy to have everyone from EVE: Online place a merc on Passive SP just for the free SP when CCP kills the hampsters.

It's very likely to become something like this.
Quote: HALLDOR FANNAR AND NEW TECHNOLOGY
CCP's Chief Technology Officer, Halldor Fannar, discussed new technology projects CCP aims to provide for their products. Specifically, Fannor covered the support of DirectX 11, which was rolled out through the Rubicon expansion. CCP used a number of new techniques, which allowed for a smoother release. With the improved system of providing support to this sort of technology, Fannar stated that new graphics performance and other features are coming soon to the game. CCP, as a company, are focusing on enhancing the EVE Universe experience for customers. The mission Fannar has for his team is to unify the service infrastructure to amplify the emergent gameplay EVE, DUST, and Valkyrie players expect. However, there is an issue; an identity must be made for each game, which means one player is known by three separate identities. For example, in EVE the player name is PlayerEVE, but in DUST 514 they are known as PlayerDUST, and in Valkyrie they are known as PlayerValkyrie. This complicates various aspects of playing the games, and is an accessibility barrier for players.
Because of this issue, Fannar and his team want to make it so that there is a single identity that is shared across all three games per player. There is no longer a PlayerEVE, a PlayerDUST or a PlayerValkyrie. There is simply an identity known as Player, shared across all three. During the preceding presentation, CCP t0rfifrans discussed how, in terms of lore, this fits into the universe. The Guristas broke the code for human cloning, and have enhanced it to the point of allowing the consciousness to be sent to different clone types.
These clone types (in actuality, your character in its respective game) allow for a seamless transition from the space battles in EVE to the ground warfare in DUST/Project Legion and back. Currently the software is in development, but it addresses a long requested feature players asked CCP for since the first announcement of DUST 514. CCP acknowledges that this will be a challenge, and that they need to take the unique player identity across all the services (EVE, DUST/Legion, and Valkyrie) and place them into a separate area. By changing to this new design, CCP will be lightening the load on the Tranquility server cluster, which will help improve performance. It was also stated that this new format will eliminate the need for downtime.

so each game has its own skill tree and progression, but they are all on the same toon name, so you swap from game to game, with the same toon name. but obviosly each game has its own skill progression,,, rather than having 3 separate toons for the 3 games

With EVE: Universe its looking quite likely that they will allow you to port your dust assets into your eve character. I hope so at least... or i'll be starting over when legion releases on my eve toon I suspect.

THIS, so what i suggest is transferring dust 514 skills onto the identity i already have in eve.

I was thinking the same thing. Seeing how they want us to use the same character for all three games I thought it might be worth planning ahead. We do not know if they will actually be linked outside that launch client yet though. Guess time will tell. Here is the link to my post so ya see my ideas on it.

DUST and Legion are/will be f2p games with passive skill point gain even if you don't play for months at a time. In EVE you have to sign in to queue up your skills to train and if you don't pay your subscription you can't queue your skills. If you don't play EVE for months, those skill points don't get collected into a pool to be used later. You just miss out on training your skills for the time you weren't playing, so skills in EVE cost real money.

If the Mittani report is correct, then it would be exactly like that.

Well, you do have 3 toons anyways. You just have them all named the same I guess.
so my dust toon gets transferred onto this with my eve toon and valk,, http://i.imgur.com/LBV5VAx.jpg
tbh im not fussed if anything carrys over, i would be happy if we all started from scratch, but if it is to move over, i would preffer this

They're going to have completely different sets of skills. Also, lore wise, their each different types of clones.

Maybe just have access to all games through one character with separate skill trees for each game, as you already suggested, but each game only allows access on using it's correct payment scheme. The more I think about you suggestion Eddie the more I like it I don't see myself getting into EvE Online, but being able to rock Legion and Valkyrie using my same character would be unreal

Did you watch the video? It has nothing to do with SP models in each game.

So you want people to suddenly become better at piloting space ships because they played a FPS? (to the tune of 50 Million+ SP) Yea.... I really doubt that is going to happen. |

You assume too much, where did I say that I support that? All I stated was that DUST skillbooks cost ISK too, and they do.
