Oh, CCP. You dun goofed bad with how Legion was revealed. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic and sad. Here is what happened to those that are confused:
- Rouge was locked in a closet in quite a long period of time. No posts on the forums, no dev blogs about him other than the basic introduction, he was really behind the scenes and we had no idea what he was working on, though we now know that was Legion. - Shoot forward several months and there is an interview between Saberwing and Rouge. Very, very basic stuff talked about. "How's the city?", "Are you excited for FanFest?", simple stuff that just is about showing that Rouge is human. There was a joke about CONCORD cutting the feed because Rouge started talking about stuff what was secret until FanFest. - Hey, now it is FanFest. "DUST 514" keynote mentions the entirely different game, Project Legion. And then it ended after less than 24 minutes. Apparently, CCP Rouge was under the impression that A) The panel discussion was going to be streamed and B) He was going to lead the panel discussion. Neither were true. This was the start of the entire communication SNAFU that we find ourselves in now. Apparently, Rouge is pissed at this. - It is one of the filler moments on EVE TV were they are chatting. Rouge is there, he looks completely out of place. It gets to be his turn to speak and he says "I just want to talk about Project Legion and DUST 514. The important th-" and the god damn stream cut off... For quite a while. Of course, it comes back in time to have another person state "that is some good news" and then they went on to talk about the upcoming panel. Twitch chat was wondering if it was a joke or a troll. - When Rouge does get to speak, it is for three whole minutes as what was clearly a last second addition on the CCP keynote. To say that it was a cup of water when the entire house is on fire is an understatement. I was watching everything live (big damn nerd): when he came out at for the CCP keynote, it looked more like Hilmar was saying "get your ass out here and do damage control" rather than actual information. "We hope we can transfer", "where applicable", great language for calming all of those that spent 20 dollars on an HD stream...
This is where he have the very interesting problem. Most people at FanFest are totally cool and calm about Legion because they had the benefit of information. The keynote was 24 minutes long but than they ran right into the panel and asked things like "what the hell is going to happen to my character?", "what is Legion?", "when is Legion?", "how long has this been going on?" For us watching at home, we are left alone, in the dark with nothing to do but get more and more angry.
If there really is going to be another interview with Rouge, where actual information is going to be brought up, don't be surprised if a Fresnel lantern falls on his head as he beings to speak.

Anyway, how is CCP going to rectify this lack of information? Hint: How about all at once without ambiguity?

I was blaiming Rouge for the way he presented all of this stuff, but at the end its just a dumm PR gau. Hope that Legion will happen after all. Was also only whatching the live stream and was pissed like hell about how communication where treated.
BTW why everybody is saying it costs 20 bucks to see the livestream. Thats not correct. On VOD were like for 20 bucks.

I stated 20 dollar HD stream.
But the reason are talking about it is because it is another nickle and dime in regards to DUST. I got the HD stream mostly for DUST. If I had gotten it ONLY for DUST...

I think it was actually Rouge who insisted he get a chance to speak at the final keynote. As someone who didn't watch the whole thing through rage goggles, Hilmar's expression struck me as sympathetic. It looked like damage control rather than actual information because he wasn't scheduled to speak and had to do it quickly so they could get on with the keynote.

One of my biggests issues is how we were told we could not get simple player to player item trading becuase they wanted to make a fully feature market system. But for the past 6 months they have been working on Legion... So what's the excuse? Please give us solid details on how you see transferring if not SP, at least our collectors editions BPOs, and closed beta rewards?
At fanfest when people asked these questions you acted like you didn't think anyone would ask... Come on, I've been playing eve online since red moon, and Dust since day 1, we're not dumb :/ You can't just say you don't have a plan, you get paid to have a plan. You should of told us 6 months ago and maybe we could of helped. Why do you treat us so differently than the eve community in terms of listening to our feedback?
Please drop dust suopport, but patch in the weapons as you finish them for legion. Give us a simple trading system and the missing caldari map at least? Just downrez the textures who cares if it's ugly this game is getting the AXE.
Also when Dust came out of beta you randomly without a word doubled , tripled the skill sink. When people like complained that having to train 2 shield skills instead of 1 like it had been for over 6 months... People said "Dust is a game that needs a 10 year skill tree, this game will go on forever" Well here we are... Please merge the skill tress back, lower the skill requirements. If you want people to pay AUR on this game still, then make the game fun... Have a clear reward system for how transfer stuff might work. This game should not have a 14 year skill tree that's nuts. The game was over in a year, you didn't even announce this change, please roll it back...

Guy above is right.
Also let's talk about how will Legion economy tie with Eve economy and is backend ready (done by Eve team). And let's not blame the fact that we have been promised a market for a year on the hardware. If development was not started then it's not hardware's fault. Failing version, glitching version etc. could be hardware (if Dev team was serious and professional, hah), but don't tell me my console can't handle connecting to your server and picking stuff from there, that's bullshit. If they have not figured it out yet, then Legion is just new polish on the same t*rd.
Last six months make the entire two year experience bullshit. We're basically waiting for servers to start refusing connections at this point.
I would be for simpler textures and simpler objects (lower polycount, dammit) if it made any difference on how the game runs. Basically now that it's dead CCP has more wiggle space here... but since they said "no more client builds" I guess we're ****** anyway.
I liked this game.

if these are the questions that need to be answered, i'm not sure that demo and power-point slide were enough to make us optimistic.

i agree.
haven't hardcore gamers proven by now that we don't care about graphics. sure, make it look nice, but make the game run like a champ. that's what's important.
this game is sport to us, not magical hollywood experience.
