Until we know exactly how much work will be involved I can't commit yet, but know that I am personally trying to make sure we make the most of having the easier access a PC platform will provide. CCP Saberwing, tell pls, fitting planned in Legion, or we have only profile suits? If fitting alive, give us any screenshot pls! I need to quell the panic and not allow people to quit the game. No answer 4 me ((( I don't really understand the question mate, sorry :) I *think* he's asking if the game will still have a dropsuit fitting system. Might be related to the cries of "Battlefield progression!" because of the intended change to BPO dropsuits and unlock-based skill tree.
On that note, will the skill tree have any skill bonuses? I like it, but I still want some stuff to get better with skill progression. |

John Psi wrote:In Legion, we can equip our suits by modules? Or each suit is fixed, unmodified? Thanxx! Do you seriously need to ask? The skill tree specifically includes unlocks for a wide variety of weapons and items and Rouge specifically stated that you can min-max your loadout in order to get into low meta-level fights with singular high metal-level items. He also made that entire point about cross-equipping weapons from different trees. |

Monkey MAC wrote: I wanna know more specifics, of course their will be fittings of some kind. Bjt Im concerned about the statement that suit BPO's will in effect be cosmetic, what does that mean for racial gear, what's the difference between minmatar and amarr suits?
Is their reason to choose one over the other?
Guys, I'm starting to think that you haven't watched the presentation. The skill tree pretty clearly showed stat bonuses on its main branch, with the smaller branches having item unlocks. The end of the first major branch branches into racial specializations. This likely means that racials have racial profiles. Otherwise it doesn't make a lick of sense. You also get additional specializations at the end of a racial branch, like Caldari Assault Spec Ops. It would be exceedingly weird if those suits were only cosmetical in nature. No one at CCP would be insane enough for that, despite the disregard for sanity that they have shown at fanfest. |

I think the point of the BPO system is the fact that dustbunnies don't have the ability to take off their suit, at least not from what has been shown. So instead you have your BPOs, which you will get comfortable with. Some of those BPOs will be your all-time favourites, which you can likely customize visually with Aurum items. The true merc experience of having completely unique suits that only get more unique the longer you play. At least that's how I interpret it.
By the way, I want a Dust veteran visual customization for Legion. Something like an image of a broken heart, with a 514 inside. |

DAMIOS82 wrote:Well i have a few questions; That suit in the eve legion trailer, you know the half face, half helmet, is that the new pilot suit?
That's the Valkyrie suit.
Quote: With the looting in legion, will other modes/missions be created aswell? like assault a compound to retrieve BPO's, or assault compound and retreive the mining resources that are stationed there or assault the drone invested excavation sites for the rare relics, possibly including some actuall hacking, like in EVE. You know actuall complexes, where it's not 16 vs 16, but more like 16 vs a horde of drones or even less like 2-4 vs a horde.
"Assault the drone-infested excavation site" is already confirmed via sandbox mode. In the sandbox, you go into a territory and search for loot. That's how items are spawned for the market. The sandbox territories have other players (Friendly fire is on, but Highsec territories cause Concorde to murder you if you attack someone) as well as drone infestations. It also sounded like they wanted to avoid artificial limitations on when and in how high numbers players can go into the sandbox, in contrast to contracts.
If you are a contract-only player (Basically like Dust currently is, except with matchmaking), all your gear will only exist because someone found it in sandbox mode and you bought it from them or a middleman.
Quote: What about the ammo styles, will those be more complex like in EVE, where it actually matters what your using or is it going to continue on the path it is now? Where it is dependant on the weapon, not ammo.
I personally hope that they remove damage profiles. They add nothing to the game. If there's special ammo, it should have other effects, like damage over time or tracer rounds, instead of ******** percentage changes to shield/armor damage that are completely pointless in a game where an engagement lasts for five seconds. Shield and armor should be functionally different and not because some weapons do more damage against them.
Quote: And in Legion, will we finally be able to go thrue vast buildings and city's, like in the very early days of dust or atleast is that one of it's goals?
Ow and one more, now that dust 514 will slowly die out over the next year or 2, can we finally know what it means?
Have you seen the presentation? I would be surprised if we didn't get larger maps.
Also, Dust was killed on the fifth month of the 14th year of this millenium.
Edit:
George Moros wrote:1. Will it still be similar to EVE's skill system, at least in the extent Dust's is? In short, will skills still be ranging from 1-5, with approximately exponential increase in skill point requirement while skilling up?
The presentation clearly stated that they wanted to remove the 1-5 system.
I really like the idea of the new system, but I would prefer it to keep some of the old stuff. Role progression is good, but I want auxilliary weapon skills (basically, 1 point unlocks that do stuff like add ammo) and the 1-5 system should at least exist for the main branch of the tree, with indirect bonuses that are tied to the BPO suit, like better weapon handling.
I'm starting to feel weird for answering those questions, considering that all my knowledge comes from the stuff that they officially released. |
