And with only 256MB of RAM; Bethesda, Rockstar, Zipper Interactive, and a whole crap ton of other developers managed to make things work (beautifully I might add), yet CCP couldn't?

MAG had..... well idk how many people they could put into one battle but it was something over one hundred in one battle. However it would probably would've taken CCP so much longer how to get close to do that, maybe PVE but idk really. They've already chose to go down the road for PC, which will be faster and better. Even better than what the PS4 has to offer.

Not enough games on their repertoire I guess. Should have stuck to PC.

Even better than what the PS4 has to offer. MAG had 256 players (128v128) in maps that were 20x more complex and typically 2x larger than most Dust maps. Not to mention the amount of foliage, map objects, multiple air support options, way better and more complex game modes, and squad leaders could actually make a huge impact by being a good leader.

Wow I heard plenty of good things about MAG from the MAG vets I've met in Dust, now if CCP knew how to do as much as the developers of MAG did with the PS3...... Still though certain things that they probably wouldn't be able to do with the PS3 with the whole Dust and EVE link but I'm no expert on hardware .

Not really. I had a PS3 before hand. Demons Souls was more worth it.

My statement regarding PC was to CCP though. If they never had touched console DUST would be leap aheads of its current state.

A question I haven't heard spouted in a long time, so I'll humor you.
To be precise, MAG lived for two years with no content added after the 2.11 update. (I think, at least close to that.) The developer ZIpper Interactive used their development time on another game, SOCOM 4, which launched while PSN was down. PSN being down hurt the player base and caused Zipper to go under and be bought by Sony.
Sadly Sony decided to simply keep the servers up rather then have another developer continue to work on MAG. You can only play 6 game modes with 3 maps each so many times, 256 players or not.

It's funny though because Counter Strike still has an active playerbase. |

Oh no doubt, I'll never argue SOCOM 4 was terrible, however it had enough of a fan base that it being bad wouldn't have killed Zipper by itself. PSN being down hurt MAGs playerbase and initial sales of SOCOM 4; which in hindsight saved fans of the series from buying a terrible game, but helped Zipper go under and killed a game which a lot of people enjoyed.
So again, SOCOM 4 was bad no doubt, but MAG was by no means a bad or failed game. It simply got the short end of a stick, such is life. Perhaps if they had continued to develop it and add content it would still be alive and thriving today; perhaps someday with MAG 2? I can only dream.
