hmm you do know what a prototype is right??
incarna was a prototype idea for eve that got cancelled
legion is a prototype idea with no guarantee that it will go anywhere
yet everyone is in a massive uproar. and mad because no one from ccp who have been doing eve fanfest has responded yet.
1 its the weekend
2 3 day fanfest just ended
3 over 1000 posts on multiple different forum threads to read
4 it is a prototype with no additional info except that it is an idea for a possible future PC game
I did not hear anything about a solid cancel date of dust. I did not hear any legion will be launched on this date. so everyone is freaking the **** out for what exactly?
yes it sucks that dust will come to an end someday... just lets be honest no one knows when that will be..
so please take a damn breather and relax.
it's just a game... one that I have personally put 2 years into.
but it is just a game. |

Incarna was an expansion, not a concept. It wasn't cancelled, it was just half-baked.

If by "everyone" you mean "a subset of a minority of CCP's fanbase" then I guess you're right.
Incarna actually got people to unsub, Incarna caused Burn Jita.
Legion is making everyone outside of this tiny forum happy. Inside this tiny forum some people are really really angry, everyone else is just happy about Dust finally coming to PC.

No The Mittani (who was CSM chairman) being banned for drunken ranting caused burn jita. and $80 monocles caused people to shoot a internet statue in jita.

DUST 514 is not getting canceled, that is true.
However, It's going to receive no future content whatsoever, and everything that DUST was advertised to be (and more) will be placed on EVE: Legion, leaving no logical reason to play DUST 514 whatsoever.
You could say "well EVE: Legion is only a prototype" but do you honestly think CCP would embarrass DUST Players at FanFest if they had no plans to actually go forward with Legion?

legion may or may not happen..
but seeing that all the content for legion is ported dust meshes, wire frames, textures etc.
see there will be new content... because they will make if for dust.. and then if/when legion is launched they already have all the art, maps, and all graphic content already to go.
legion probably will happen... and lets be honest.. it looked nice on the tech demo
but that is at least 1-2 years away
dust is the portal that opens the way for a game like legion.. but that does not mean both can't exist
dust could be the quick and dirty lobby shooter as it is now on PS3 and maybe a PS4 version as well
legion could be the true immersive MMORPG that the fans of eve want in a FPS
Valkyrie is the make ya puke from the headset, flying in space killing people addiction and port to ps4
and eve will always be a internet spreadsheet spaceship pew pew game
CCP wants multiple levels of immersion on multiple systems..
but EVE is the driving force.. our money. ( eve pilots like myself) is paying for most of the development for all these other games.
I'm just saying.. no one knows what will happen... we have what we want, CCP has their vision.. and I say again... no cancel date announcement has been made that I have seen..
soo all the anger is justified for the unveil... a " this is something we put together on the weekends as a tech demo for a possible future game on the PC" " now tell us what you think before we invest a few million $$ into the project"
that would have been better... but CCP is known for botching stuff. |
