The comparison is bad for many reasons. CCP isn't doing this to hurt your feelings.

1. The PS3 was a dying console. Focusing on it might have been fine for a while, but when the PS3 finally died we would have been left in an even worse situation than we are now. EVE Online is doing great, has been doing great and it's on a platform that is the same.

2. Consoles have many limitations. PCs have a noticeably smaller amount of limitations. So while moving Dust 514 to the PC removes limitations, moving EVE to a console would add limitations.

I'd start saving to buy a PS4 in 2 years. By my maths that's about 75c a day I need to save even with the expensive cost of them where I live.
If you save for a solid gaming desktop, you are talking between $2 a day for the USA, to maybe $4 a day where I live. That's less than a cup of coffee a day, about the price of 2 cokes here, less than a beer at a bar.

It's not like this shift is happening tomorrow, you have plenty of time.

Also, you think 'console gamers' have it rough. Think about all those EVE players who bought a PS3 for just Dust. You guys who are console gamers still have all your other console games.

They won't take you seriously until it really happens. The thought of the game they've invested so much time into is getting canned is inconceivable to them in theory, and they will try to troll you if you think otherwise.

This is why when we were presented with irrefutable evidence, everyone lost their minds. You simply can't show this perspective to an Arrogant PC Elitist without forcibly shoving it down his throat and making him cry for mercy or blood.

On a side note, seeing the average console gamer come to the PC is indeed LOL. Just look at the average blueberry in this game, they're horrible. But they're not the ones coming to PC, Eve players, no no no. We'll see
