Support for it was dropped because EVE doesn't support it.
EVE now supports it.

I dont talk to team/project cerberus though they're the ones in charge of it. The stratagey is a bit broad but company has to balance capabiltiies and means. So removing all support for languages the game was not localized to made sense, most unfourtunate this was sad news for many folks that could have enjoyed the game that was not even in thier navtive tongue. But when budget allows adding a language to a game is definetly going to be in is just plaing stupid to keep the support on leave.

The question is, now that CCP has announced support for French Language in EVE Online, will French Language support also be offered in DUST 514?
The business reasons for restricting DUST Language support to the same languages that are supported in EVE Online are understandable, but those same business reasons would suggest that French support in DUST should now be provided. CCP will be paying for French Language translation staff, so it would be logical to make use of that asset in DUST as well.
Too bad there continues to be no Spanish support, but the community can try to pick up the ball on that. The other day when I logged in I noticed that there was more people in the Spanish version of Learning Coalition chat than in the English version. My Director of Spanish Affairs is a native Spanish Speaker and has setup the channel to get experienced Spanish players to help the Spanish rookies.
Unfortunately I donGÇÖt have any French speaking Directors, so I am hopeful that the French support for EVE announcement, leads to French support being added back into DUST.
If not, we should have CCP Rouge translate the patch notes and announcements personally as penance for botching the Project Legion announcement. 
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

GM support in eve (which in turn extends to dust 514) should have french but Ill ask around for a blue tag when i get home.
