I've watched the "Dust" aka Legion Keynote, Dust:Progression, and Dust: More sand in the box. Since then my feelings have been the same of many dust players, and i logged on to dust to confer with my corp, and my friends to discuss and et some of our feelings, hopes, and rage out of our system.
A lot of cold hard truth on both sides. Basically it came down to not project legion but how poorly CCP handled the announcment. Since then CCP has stated they will transfer all of our characters from Dust to legion, and are trying to stamp out the problems created by dust in legion. Also, in the DUST Progressioin vid, the dev said they would implement as much as they could in dust before putting it in legion.
Clearly the PS3 could not last. Not for a decade. Though i do not own a gaming PC or a PS4 sooner or later i would have to get one or the other because my laptop, just like my PS3 will become obsolete. And it makes more sense to get a high end computer to last for all my needs (professional and gaming). Yet we see cross title games all the time. So though i feel for console gamers who feel robbed of dust, I dont see how something developed for a PC could not make it onto the PS4 so whats the panic all about? Either way PS3 players will be left behind, either way the community would be split.
We all knew that DUST in its current state could not last, and its more on how CCP handled it that killed dust rather than merely informing the community MONTHS AGO that Legion is a new project in order to continue the vision of dust. CCP shoud not have been offering booster sales without informing the community of what its long term plans are. I doub't anyone with half a brain will buy aurum anymore. Shame on CCP for that.
DUST is on life support and will probably limp along foranother year. Yet its time we remember the only things we loose from dust to legion is the stuff that doesn't matter at all in DUST. We keep our SP and our characters, and of course i will keep in touch with my friends i met through this game. Screw the isk, KD means nothing, and screw the iskfarmers. Happily i wont have to deal with half of the garbage that the community did to dust, the whining, the buff this nerf that, the endless protostomping, the glitchers, and genneraly the awful behavior that made me rage hard and often and not in a good way. The huge SP sink will be gone, and no one will have to wait for months on end just to have a good suit and be competitive. PC will no longer be 16 v 16 but actual wars of attrition. The Dust Elitist pricks will be gone as well.
If only CCP didn't have to take a crap on us in the process. Public apology for the Fanfest disaster and all will be square with me. Then for sure Tesfa da Merc will alos be Tesfa da Valkyrie. Popping capsuleers left and right.
oh and one more thing. No more CPM. They were the ones who hyped fanfest exitement for months. And when they had a chance to ask questions on the live stream they asked ZERO about what the community was concerned about. They don't deserve anything for dust and they i don't want the same thing to happen to legion.
