What would you be willing to say to stop a fire...2 years down the road if they do not fulfill the promise they lose nothing. You may not buy Legion but you wouldn't have anyway if they told you no player transfer...so there is no risk in lying.

I read it, but I have a hard time believing they honestly wanted to screw us. I think it's more plausible that they don't understand social interactions with humans. Part of me believes they thought we'd all immediately sport wood despite warnings from the CPM.

They are changing the game so that 50m sp players are not constantly going up against new players so it won't wreck the game. Right now in dust we have no choice but to play against proto try hards but there there will be far more to do in legion.
As far as sony is concerned why would they not release them, it is a game dying in numbers, probably not making that much money anymore, ccp has the intellectual rights so why would Sony care. |

Heck. That's one of the reasons I want my stuff to carry over. Let them taste their own medicine. Had enough Eve players stomping me in Eve. Time to return the favor. They treat community like guinea pigs for testing of something what they will not have.
They stole our ideas and implement them on that project.

Despite the fact that now we are reassured that our progress will not be lost and we can then transfer over to Eve Legion, it doesn't change the fact that CCP screwed up big time. This was an even bigger screw up than when they announced Incarna for Eve Online and then failed to deliver on more than half of the stuff they promised plus the debacle on the NeX Store implementation. That was back in 2011. I guess they just didn't learn their lessons.

I do trust them because I was an eve player long before I was a dust player and they do listen to the community. They knew the ps3 could not hold what they wanted dust to become so it was either PC or ps4 and in ps4 you would have the same problem again in 4 years. They chose PC because that is hat they are good at.
I am hoping that this means legion will be a summer release or soon ..... Not soon(tm)
Dust was not a scam, I had and will continue to have fun on it but it was so hamstrung due to dying tech.
I was mad when hearing this at first but the more I think about it and cool off it was the right thing to do and from the sounds of it if you choose to follow dust into legion, ccp will take care of you. |

Our corporation was just on the verge of making Dust a premiere part of our website. But now I am supposed to tell my constituents that all of our work and growth in the playstation division has been for nothing?! That our players have to just find another game to play long term? Those other games are never about long term!! Dust 514 was the answer to that!!
They (CCP) need to do the right thing, and NOT abandon the consoles like that. This whole thing just sounds illegal and sketchy.
CCPRouge, you told me you were a man of discretion, not a doubtful, selfish leader. I understand that jumping into the middle of this project called, "Dust 514" was a bit challenging... But that never meant to give up. That never meant to take the easy way out.
I have a PS4 sitting here waiting for when yall decide to take unreal engine 4 to its next step, to integrate it into " EVE Mercenaries on the Ground," on Next Gen!!
Make this thing right, because this sounds like the end of everything for your little top-of-the-world party if you all do not. You are making the Playstation community look like a bunch of rejects and insignificants. This is embarrassing for us, truly embarrassing.
Shoot, even the EVE Online forums are exploding with concern and trollage over this whole quagmire. I think the reason why people are just raging is because console games have never been persistent. You spend $60, play the game for a few weeks or more then by another.
Dust changed that and made players really care about their characters because they were going to be around for a long time..... Then to say if you are only own a ps3 you can still play the game but now it will die like the rest on the ps3. I can totally see how that is crushing.
If you only have a ps3 and have no plans to get a PC......that really sucks. They were mentioning this box intel computer during the keynote that is about the size of an external hardrive and would play eve.... Not sure how much that would be but probably less than a full gaming PC. |

I find it funny that CCP still hasnt learned about the console gaming community. do they really exect a bnch of full-fledged console gamers (and most of Dust's gamers are just that) to switch to PC just to keep their characters on one game? because they wont. they will just give CCP and any of its further games a big "f*ck you" and switch over to a similar game like Destiny.

I will fight to maintain as much value as possible (like converting all grades of weapons to thier nearest variant or refunding removed items) but legion is likely going to have immense number of changes in the end that is going to leave a bunch of odd situations such as those people who have thousands of dropsuits and if the progression presentation model holds up held up that translates into thousands of bpos which may or may not sell too well back on the market if they're also teiricided into one class and everyone and thier cousin already has that suit. I hope those who are staying can help me advise on how to make the transfers acceptable as possible if such situations come up. After all its your stuff and I am by all means space poor.
1. Equivalent sp transfer (I know they are reworking the skills but a relatively close transfer would be nice)
2. Isk transfer up to a certain dollar value (to not allow PC exploiters to retain all their fools gold)
3. Retained blueprints (I am guessing bps will work more like eve anyways so you will have to use resources to make Bp suits)
4. Players need much more that pvp to keep occupied so the proto stomp does not happen
5. Obviously have lower graphical setting so that more ps3 players can transfer over if they have an older PC.
6. pilotable mcc's. You wanted an open world sandbox so give us the tools. (And there is where some of those dust funds will go)
7. Keep some sort of arena pub matches for pure pvp./ and for gambling purposes..... I really want to see this, betting on arena matches
8. The devhangout channel was really good to let players ask questions all the time, there should be a more official channel like this where devs can always be found.
9. Future honesty, keeping a secret this big from your player base for so long.....only to announce it at fanfest looks shady, more upfront honesty in the future please

It doesn't matter if SP carries over or not in terms of the dickstomping at least some of us, and definitely me, are going to be handing out to EVE players. While they were flying internet spaceships, I was playing PC FPSes and honing my mouse skills. If people think that the CR's lack of burst delay is a problem now, they are in for a rude shock when we get proper mouse input.
