At least when character transfers are implemented people will get the full respec they have been demanding for the last couple months.

Except we may not be able to transfer to Legion thanks to PS3 contract jargon.
I wouldn't get your hopes up.
Lol @ Respecs kill DUST though.
I think CCP does a MUCH better job at that than all the respecs in the world could ever hope to.

Honestly some from of SP transfer is almost a guarentee in my mind. they might have some kind of "booster" that will give people extra passive SP until they reach the amount they have in Dust. Maybe it will be a straight port (Although this I doubt). It could even be just a capped amount to transfer as to not break the new game. But I'm very confident there will be something. And honestly, something is way better then a Dust for PS3 for much longer.

DUST will be dead at least a year before Legion launches. CCP is probably counting on that so they can avoid any character transfer. |

Its a dying console guys, and the idea of Dust and all your "investments" will go down the drain eventually anyway if CCP didnt make some sort of plan to get away from it.
I don't believe for one second that there will be data transfers of any kind. Names, SP or otherwise.
From a business perspective it would make no sense.
By the time Legion is viable no one on these forums will care any more about what they did in 2014 anyway. Everyone will have new interests by then.
Are you still doing anything you were doing in 2011? Hope I'm wrong but I'm not.

Getting thousands of already dedicated players to push to a new Game/Engine is not a poor business decision. I have been working on database/platform data synchronization utilities for a living. The amount of work required for something as simple as character data transfer is simply mindbogglingly easy. Simple SQL would probably be viable.

You are looking at it from a programming POV I suppose but from a revenue stream perspective transferring data that would limit revenue generating ops is counter productive.
How many posts have you read from vets with too much SP that were bored? Not playing as much? Not buying boosters BC didn't need the SP? Why would, as CCP, you bring that over to your new game?

I suspect, like I say in an earlier post, SP transfers will have a cap if they are hard transfers. If they aren't hard transfers, they could take the form of a special booster. That's one of the major issues with this game that cant be really undone at this point: People with too much SP.

even though character transfers might not happen, they are looking into some kinda compensation as such for those who make the move and have done alot of dust.

Hmmmm....why would you want players who were so dedicated that they poured countless hours and plenty of money into your game, just to finally be forced to come to the same conclusion that CCP has: the game has no future.
Why on earth would you want dedicated fans to migrate to the upgraded version of what you originally managed to sell them on?

I sincerely hope your are right but my feeling is if they do anything like that it will be little more than a negligible token. !0 free cloaks or something to that effect.

GG guys.
This is false, you are not listening/reading. CCP is unable to transfer characters, their rights are owned by Sony.
There is no character transfer and any attempt to transfer or reward will result in Sony owning CCP. |

The ones who will come will come anyway.
The ones that would come only if they get data ports will likely be tiny in number. Hell, the entire player base is tiny number. Do you believe for a second that they will have meetings on how to appease 93 players?

Doubt it would be that small. They might be coy little f-cks but they aren't stupid. They would make it actually worth it for people to come back.
Also, this whole "SONY OWNS THE RIGHTS" makes absolutely no sense as well. Player data is stored on CCP servers, they can do whatever they f-in want with that data.

Constant abuse of mechanics is what kills Dust. I can see why they want to make a new game where they can reign things without thousands of people screaming at them because they took away their crutches.
