The creation of dust was funded by eve players, prior to any release or monetization from the game.
The maintenance and development costs were possibly completely funded through microtransactions, which are now likely to grind to a halt.. meaning eve players will again fund the development of legion.

Technically - Dust hasn't made any money at all. Indeed it's been a huge ******* disaster. CCP made a loos this year of 20m, development of Dust doubled R&D costs, but revenues went up by only 15%. Legion is the right move , but the execution of this announcement was ******* awful . |

Thanks right back. I'm a bit jealous that I'm not going to experience all that, I wanted to, but after how this Dust 514 thing and the WoD game has gone down, if I put the money into a gaming PC it wouldn't be to play a CCP game anyway. I don't have much faith in their future anymore, you keep burning people and it eventually bites you in the ass.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.
