I just came here and have seen all the madness.
I would like to say a pair of things.
1. Dust is dead. Or at least, it is exponentially dying as hours passes. There is absolutely no way to turn this back.
2. PC to Playstation ports do not work. It is a fact. No shared community is possible, and it is not happening.
3. Destiny is a game for hippies that will last 1 year being extremely optimistic. It is dead from the beginning. PVE won't work.
4. Dust 514, except for the viral lack of balance in some cases, is an absolutely AWESOME game experience. There is no other shooter like it. So, since it is dead, make Legion the definitive and forever lasting gameplay experience ever.
5. I am buying a gaming PC.

I'm going to enjoy destiny pve because I haven't over hyped myself. I know its just halo deep down, but I'm going to enjoy the pve that I have been craving for in dust. The PvP looks horrible and the term balance doesn't apply, its who has the better or rarer gun. |

PC to console ports can work, especially with the next gen consoles (primarily because the architecture is the same, and tech wise neither is leaps and bounds ahead of the other - yet).
However you are right; if Legion made it to PS4, cross platform play would probably not happen. Doesn't mean that the two couldn't be connected by systems such as FW, though. |

Correct, FF14 proves without a doubt that ports from PC to the PS4 do not work, and the communities between the two platforms cannot coexist with one another.
And what are you talking about? There is nothing special about Dust, unless you count it's lack of balanced development as "special ed". The ideas that were supposed to be implemented dust, and will now be put into Legion was what made the game unique.
Now that they took away the games future possibilities Dust is simply a lobby shooter that still doesn't have the core mechanics established. So actually, I guess Dust 514 IS "special" afterall. An FPS that fails at the FPS element. |
