I went to sleep about 6 hours ago. The shitstorm was pretty bad then, but I have awoken to find that it has yet to subside.
What was CCP's response? Is all future development of Dust cancelled?
If so, how much longer does the game have? Was a closure date announced?
At first, I couldn't help but laugh at everything, but now that I've slept, I understand how you guys feel and it sucks. |

dust and it's 'ten year development plan' have been shitcanned.
ccp shanghai has been reallocated to work on 'legion' a game that's exactly like dust, except you can't transfer your dust character to it.
dust is dead.

We we told 3 things, one dust future is going to be limited. Two dust is going to be a best testing grounds for dust 2.0 (called legion) which will be on the PC and not the PS4. And finally, we were told we won't be getting any of their previous promises, legion will be where everything occurs.
It was a big **** storm because they basically said we've wasted our time and we have no more use for console players because they want to cater to old men and their PC's. |

The fking dust keynote wasn't even about dust. All they talked about was fking legion. But yea legions replacing dust and dust is not getting any meaningful updates anytime soon.
The only positive thing I've heard was that CCP is waiting to see the communities response for this to become final but for some reason I think they've already decided what they're going to do. |

Bad things won't happen until the non-forum players learn what is going on and realise what there origin suits are really worth.
All I can say is that I am glad I bought my templar bop set with isk.
You do not have to be crazy to play here but we are willing to train you.

CCP is hiding under their blankets and refusing to talk to the angry mob with pitchforks and molotovs.
they said that dust 514 will be getting now new updates and that they will keep the servers going till "legion" comes out.
so my best estimate, before the year is over we will see dust dead for good.
you think this is bad? our corp just turned 1 year old today (2nd May) and we now know that our corp wont even reach its 2nd year

Haha, I was just asking for fun since the front page of general discussion was filled with "I'm quitting/Biomassing/Eff u ccp" threads at the time. It's funny because no one sent anything despite how persistent I was.
In all, I understand why everyone is upset and I too share those sentiments, but Legion is undoubtedly the proper move CCP should take if they want to expand on ground infantry based play.
The PS3 is archaic technology by today's standards and further development of Dust would only be hampered by the limitations of the console. Moving the idea over to the PC could not have been a better decision.
However, this does not excuse CCP for screwing over the few who have dedicated the time, effort, and money into building their current toons. The way things were announced and how answers were not provided shows no tact on CCP's part and gives the impression that they could not care less about the community that has stayed with them.
These players feel betrayed and it's completely understandable to see why. |
