CCP invites Dust players to spend money to travel to iceland and party while they listen to great new Dust news, Then promptly dosent talk about dust at all and pretty much says dust was all just a big test, and if your a consol player and dont have a gaming rig PC your SOL.
Personaly I would be demanding refunds on my Fanfest tickets for both HD streams and the fanfest itself.
I mean really having people fly 1000s of miles to spit on their face is kinda sadistic even for CCP.
These forums must be located in the Californin country side, there is whine as far as the eye can see.

They at least could of used that extra 45 minutes of the Dust keynote to show upcoming patches for Dust 514, they say it's still going to be updated and patched but they don't talk about it like they have anything they are currently working on.
the devs on this forum promises us updates on the future of Dust 514 only 4 hours before the stream. Was everyone that out of the loop? |

They said Legion is but a prototype that might never turn into a full game and at the same time this prototype is all they had to show players after all that "this time's for real" talk.
They could've focused their efforts to get something tangible for dust and present a proper Legion alpha, along with a public beta announcement next fanfest. As it stands they have product people fear will become obsolete, and on top of that, nothing but an early prototype to replace it.
All of this was so easily forseeable and it seems CPM even warned them so. Why they didn't listen is beyond me since the CPM exists for this exact reason in the first place.
You can take a benign object, -you can take a cheeseburger and deconstruct it to its source...

they confirmed drones (pve) to be legion only. they announced exactly nothing for dust.

Have to say, CCP did write again videogame history, in this case in pissing off an entire platform community.
Even now im mentally signing resignation letters from my corp members.
No way for any damage control.
I seriously dont get how anyone at CPM CCP or any other C ever thought of making that kind of announcement without the obvious reaction in mind.
I was really looking forward to that stream, but i honestly truelly dont know what to say to that kind of irresponsible little minded announcement..

First, the initial PC announcement was without any other context (ie. Dust now officially being on death row).
Second, most of the crowd would be EVE players (either exclusively or as well as Dust) it is pretty reasonable to expect cheering from them given the first point.
EDIT: Finally, according to Praetorian, once they actually sat down and physically talked to the players about it all at the following round tables - most people did actually 'get it'. |
