Actually, they didn't say this. They specifically said Dust would continue to be developed.
That's what they said. I do not think, however, that is how it will prove out in 3-6 month's time.

They usually don't fix the majority of bugs we find anyway, so business as usual. |

They havent fixed bugs for ages,,,, this forum section is full of un-done stuff....
Even the bi-weekly 'known-issues' thread has been untouched for almost a month

No. They have stopped fixing 1.7 bugs and we know now the assets necessary to uphold the commitment to Dust have been off building a different game. 1.8 bugs have stopped being fixed as well over the last two weeks as they crunched to get some kind of mediocre demo running (many in game mags were unimpressed).
At least we know why now.
