I love Dust. It's one of my favorite games of all time. The FPS mechanics were a lot stronger than people gave it credit for. It was a solid, console FPS with a rich progression system and deep customization. It was also amazingly balanced for all its woes.
Name another game where 3 distinct main rifles play drastically different yet all feel powerful and have their advantages?
Name another game where a character with 200 health can own one with 1500?
Tanks v AV wasnt great, but based on the infantry balance, I expected them to get there someday, probably soon.
But, I am done. Trading in my ps3. I already own a ps4, so I think ill pick up TitanFall for 360 since its supposed to be solid. Maybe join my buddy in warframe? Maybe planetside 2 will finally hit ps4?
Legion will probably be everything I wanted in DUST. The main problem? PC.
Every single PC FPS is inherently pay to win. And thats why I will bow out. I dont feel like needing top of the line computer, with a fancy special mouse with 3rd party macros made to counter kick on guns in order to feel like Im not playing at a disadvantage.
Look at Dust. Even on PS3 we had folks upgrading hard drives to get their vehicles in quicker. We had folks switching to DS4 controllers to get that edge (im guilty of that, until my DS4 started freaking out and i switched back). We had folks using kbm, and some fancy emulation to still get Aim Assist.
Console FPS may be frowned upon by PC players, but it is a much more even fight. You get to PC and its pay to win.
Even if we get a PS4 port, the field wont be even. Sure PS4 may stand up to most PCs, but not all, and it wont have macros and other stuff that folks use to get that edge when they take PC gaming too seriously. So, as much as I loved DUST for what it was, and could only dream of what it could someday be, I'm done. Wont play another game, probably wont make another post. Been a fun ride. Thanks for dicking us console players over CCP. Im out. |

I think I'll stick with my PC, I'll just throw away my ps3 it's useless anyways now.

I still have some games on ps3, so i stuck with it for some.
Defo not in Dust after these Guinea Pigs betatest revelation.

Why should I? Dust is just one game on the PS3. I have tons of good PS3 games.

Nope, need to finish some Metal Gear games still. Sorry.
SL dumbfire, DS bumpercars, B-Series punch. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time.. to die.

Might keep it around as a bluray player after I finish up any PS3 exclusives in my backlog. No point in using it for gaming since the majority of what I want to play is on PC too. This doesn't meant I'll ever play Destiny. Officially done with CCP.
This community is the nail in Dust 514's coffin, waiting to be hammered in.
