As was pointed out EVE still gets new subscriptions with 10 year old characters in the game, so starting with high level players is either not a problem or it will kill the game inside two years regardless as new players gain the same level.

No, it's actually a matter of can we. There are technical questions and restrictions, legal questions (with Sony) and design questions (how do we convert experience when the progression system is different, items are different and ISK works in different ratios).

When we can answer the questions above, we'll share with you. Trust me when we say we want to let people carry over progress. But we just honestly don't know if we can do so yet.

What sort of permission do they need from Sony to copy the data to Legion? And why would Sony care anyway? DUST on the PS3 is now dead regardless. CCP might port it to the PS4 as they are with Valkyrie, and in any event Sony has a probably much better game in Valkyrie than it ever had in DUST. So why should Sony want to mess with CCP that way? ISK is a small matter as most don't have much and those who do got it from the PC ISK fountain that has been spewing free fortunes for months now. Likewise inventory is disposable. But SP is the hours we spent supporting this game, hours we ground with the promise that it meant something. It's the one thing that is supposed to last forever. As long as Legion has a progression system there will be a way to make the translation.
