I noticed that spamming 20 uplinks or more within a 100m radius of the objective in Domination will usually result in either a win for your team, or at the very least, one hell of a match.
Even if the team you're on consists of nothing but blueberries, multiple uplinks on the field will encourage them to fight, even if odds are stacked against them.
Today, I felt like a general commanding an army to fight for me. All I had to do was ensure that at least 15 uplinks were fielded at a time.
+25 +25 +25 +25 ....
I went one match without killing a single red and attained 2100 WP in the process. I'm horrible. |

I know the feeling well- but unlike you, the most uplinks I'll ever have out is 3 well-placed ones from a scout.
When your uplinks are right next to each-other, they're absolutely pointless.

But near each other, slightly out of LOS and flux range from each other, is very useful. It can buy you that extra 3 seconds you need to get the next wave of respawns off before the enemy can push to the last uplinks. I generally have 6 out at a time.

Until a warbarge strike destroys the copycat uplinks and we find ourselves spawning at the MCC or ground location, which are both 20 football fields away from the objective.
Mercenaries, if a person drops a uplink at one location, how about you find another good place to put down a uplink? Not only does it provide more points of offensive rushes, it prevents the enemy from revving up momentum since the entire team of reds will notice where everybody is coming from.
I'll drop down one uplink and then there's 6 of em right next to them. I call that warpoint whoring.

It is an effective tactic. and can definitely result in embarrassing amounts of WP if you are the only one with uplinks and there are a lot of deaths on your side...
I usually have 6 as well. I find that a nice staggered arc with a radius of 150m or less from the objective works nicely. Allows for multiple angles of attack and minimizes opportunities for massive spawncamping.

Silly dog, my uplinks are virtually never close enough together that you can even throw fluxes at more than one without moving.

During a Domination match at the Gallente Research last week we just broke them at the hack point. Rather than hang there I ran down the hall to the Supply Depot. A Flux would have cleaned house. However I was on my Logi ALT and had to tragically use an Assault Mass Driver.

Oh yesh, people still pack that room with equipment. Not sure if they are farming, stupid, or trying to lag the other team out.

This is why I don't play domination, because I spend more time dropping uplinks than I do repping or killing.
If I don't, and no one else is doing it, we end up getting redlined.
Funny how that works. Why would I want to play a game mode where I only do one thing? Where I only make it fun for everyone else that plays?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE domination when I'm actually playing, but if I'm the only one being everyone's uplink *****, it's not worth it.
And the worst thing? The heavies I squad up with complain to me afterwards that they weren't being repped. Well of course, I was too busy placing uplinks for everyone to spawn on, and the enemy kept destroying them so I had to put down more.

Every dom map except for Manus Peak (which sucks anyway) has good dropship-only high ground for placing spawn points. The Gal Research Facility is particularly good- you can get them on top of the ring around the objective! Usually these uplinks last all game, or at least enough of it to guarantee the win.

I have NEVER EVER played a dom match without ATLEAST 25 links on the board. Oh wait those were all mine. :) I am going into retirement. Its just not fun anymore. Make the same amount isk/sp either way. All my proto links just ran out. Got like 500 hacked and a couple bpos ill still run. Killing is so much more fun. Let the kiddies take over. |

I find it worse to bust my balls running out a few links to takeover the objective and I either see it is almost clear then I wait, and wait, and no one comes in even though the killfeed shows clones dying. I also hate it when our team is trapped in a bad location in Ambush and I manage to get out and get a link in a good tactical spot and everyone keeps rushing back to the crappy place they just left.
But yeah, it is annoying when you just get started doing something and you look up and see no links. 15 guys on the objective and no one else brought links.
Because, that's why.
