OK no more excuses. We've been asking since closed beta. I was told to read the book. I bought the book and read the whole thing (terrible). It does not explain the meaning. CCP just tell us already. Or rename the game to something less stupid sounding. EVE: Legions sure sounds good *wink* |

It's a hint that they're going to be working on Half Life 3.
Think about it, 3 numbers, there's been 5 main story instalments, Half Life, Opposing forces, Half Life 2, Episode 1 and episode 2.
They'll be making 1 game.
And with 4 expansions.
Yup, totally happening.

The book does explain the meaning, which means you didn't read the book, or you have no reading comprehension skills. In either case, you're not in a place to be judging the book, you gigantic scrub.

Over the years of hearing about Dust, I have heard several answers to what 514 means.
The only one that even makes sense is there are 5 races in New Eden and 14 bloodlines.
However, to the best of my knowledge CCP had never confirmed this is what it means.

It has been stated in a previous thread (don't have a link sorry) that the numbers are 5, 1, 4 not 514, or 5, 14 or 51, 4 or any other combination. |

This is what I heard as well...
It was to be like command & conquer with real players, the commander could fly the barge around to buildings in the level to rep the shields and armor |
