First off, your suits and weapons aren't actually gold, and having a shiny color won't help you do anything. Couple that with this, and your aesthetics argument doesn't hold up quite well:

I take issue with that. I love the aesthetics of the Amarr suits.
1) The Amarr heavy is easily the best-looking suit in the game period.
2) The Amarr medium takes some cues from ancient warriors and just generally looks like the older stepbrother of the Minmatar medium that gave it that black eye in the first place.
3) The Amarr light is the weak point, but at least it doesn't look like the Minmatar Shaved Monkey Dropsuit.
If you're talking about battlefield effectiveness, however, then you've got a point. The Amarr suits are not particularly effective. Not saying they're underpowered exactly, but they don't (figuratively) shine, either.
