1 year: At this point I can honestly say that I've seen it all. I have been through a lot of builds and have seen the game at it's height and low. I am currently in ERA. We are the bad guys I guess, but everyone doesn't see what we are trying to accomplish. We are trying to send a message and I can promise you your land wasn't taken in vein, but for a higher cause. But enough about that. I am proud to be in ERA, it has been a goal of mine, to play alongside the best in the game, for some time now...8months to be exact. Looking back and seeing how far I've come, it's really breathe taking. I'm such a try hard. lol. But you know what,...playing this game as much as I do/have, It's nice to know that I'm finally a big fish, even if it is a small pond. My perseverance paid off. I have also been able to witness the big picture for Dust as I have watched the first generation of Dust bunnies graduate and help build what Dust is today. I am happy that we have finally gotten our racial suits. This was a big step in the right direction. I'm very pleased to see that the cycle has been broken if only for one build. My only hope is that we continue in the right direction and keep building the game in the right way.
In conclusion, I would like to thank CCP and all of the great people out there who have been my logi's, slayers, heavies, tank buddies, wingmen, and above all friends. I may not have a life...but I have more friends than anyone with a life does. The concept of corps, teams, and squads, is the backbone to this game.Going forward we need to concentrate on these foundations rather than the old nerf and buff. We need to get back to what separates this game from a "Map Pack". Fingers crossed for 2.0 and the re-birth of Dust514.
Possibly the best around.

Pay me enough and I'll take the time to write it up :3

Come on man. I really want to read some other stories of how people got started and where they ended up. What was their favorite build. The love we share for Dust is in our memories...I'm starting to sound really gay. lol. Just take 20 mins to type up a story for me.

The love we share for Dust is in our memories...I'm starting to sound really gay. lol. Just take 20 mins to type up a story for me. I started out back in 2012 with ZionTCD. I joined never having played EvE, and with very little FPS background. But I have an RTS background, and the promises of CCP entranced me to play an RTS game in first person view.
Sadly, it was to never be. I spent the first 8 months in closed beta as a heavy AR. Back when HMG's had the same range with way more damage and INSANE amount of health. But they couldn't turn to save there lives and scouts moved like lightning. Not to mention jumping broke hit detection.
So, I progressed in ZionTCD as a player, picking the AR in a heavy suit because I know my play style is that of a Tank in an MMO - and heavy best suited that. All I needed was gun-game, but I had no real back-ground. And I know using HMG would do my gun-game no favors. So I choose AR and put myself into do or die situations until I started winning the majority of confrontations.
After achieving my goal of having a somewhat good gun-game, I entered the forums October 2012. Entering community discussions about the game using the knowledge I had gained forcing myself to get better. This my high hopes and helpful attitude was first met amongst you, and I begin my first interactions in the community.
Eventually, growing a name for myself as a poster. I used to clash with the Imperfects all over the forums, we didn't seem to see eye to eye about the progress of this game. But fighting them was fun in pubs - often the only time a my heavy AR fit ever got more then 4 deaths.
Then, as open beta launched, Relations between me and ZionTCD soured. Leadership in ZionTCD were not being transparent at all - often ignoring and leaving out members. It was horrible watching ZTCD Beg ZionShad and Jesse Jayne to save the corp and they did absolutely nothing to prevent it's down-fall. Not promoting people to proper spots until 2 revolts that took the entire A team of Zion TCD away.
This is when Free Beers and DeadPool approached me in game. Asking me to help there training corp, Impswarm. I was reluctant, it took them a few talks to bring me in and convince me, but they won me over and I joined. Internal Error was made shortly after and the creation of the Imperfects second A team was formed.
After training match after training match - PC finally dropped 5/14/13. Imps immediately began fielding me in each match to hold city hold points with 2-ton and HowDidThatTaste - no one could stop our 3 heavy man combo. HowDidThatTaste speed heavy suit supporting both me and 2-ton perfectly. Imperfects went on to a spotless winning streak for months, until the war on SVER Prime where Teamplayers handed Imps there first loss *I took a break after too many PC's burning me out at this point, but hopped into a few SVER games after the loss to make sure we weren't going crazy, sadly TP never showed in any of my games*
Imps fell a part due to hating CCP a month later. AE is formed, IE disbands. NF disbands, AE does it's own thing. EoN takes over MH. I'm a merc in a dead corp at this point, on no one's side. I put my main in Imperfects and prepared to quit Dust.
Cubs is introduced to the Imperfects Skype chat by me, he uses that connection to recruit several of the left over Imps, including myself. So we enter the FEC wars on TP side - and rejuvenate our love for the game. We stick with TP throughout each of there endeavors, even there forming of MHPD (...)
Ultimately, it lead to a landslide effect that has us where we are now. There's a lot more I can say, but this is of the gist of it.

Dude, TP was the only ones able to compete with the imps. I was in that war with STB, against the imps. We were so in-experienced when it came to the level the imps and TP were on. That was a great story. I find people's history on this game interesting. I've always wondered how a lot of the guys in our alliance got to where they are today. Did they start from the bottom and go try hard like I did and slowly work there way up the ladder, or were they just always the best from day 1. lol. Now I know, your sort of like me. I'm hoping more people would tell their story, as it seems appropriate, given the fact that the future of Dust in unclear atm.

A guy at work told me about EVE/DUST. I looked around for closed beta access but it was in open beta already. Downloaded and started killin. I was in love. I had recently had my heart broken by MAG and those devs catering to whiney little bitches. Dust was a good rebound. Chrome was so fucken awesome. I started with a corp that sucked, Colonial Marines of the federation. Everytime we played with the CEO we dropped frames. They also freaked on Baal for giving us money for skill books. Fucken. Baal, Grub, Aiden, Ganjud started Necron knights. It was a blast til our CEO lost his net.
I jumped. I made the Wolves 14 months ago. I brought my friends from the knights. We were pretty rowdy. Back then we didn't know much besides red=dead. Started picking up members and absorbing smaller corps. We did a merger with DOD planetary response. They couldn't get new members because everyone thought they were a part of PXRXO. I got a director and an alliance out of the deal. My ingame son, Bleu Green trolled E-SYN because of all the damn alliance mail and got in a fight with one of their peons. We got booted. Fuckem, I thought. We didn't need them carebears anyway. pegasis brought the shadows over. It was a great time for the Wolves.
We have always been a training corp really. I would rather play with awesome people than awesome players. We always talked about getting into PC. So we started training for it. It was hard when Uprising patches destroyed peoples play styles. We were never Fotm. My heavies and LR specialists mostly quit dust altogether. So here I am with an army of logis. It was great fun. We were syncing in FWs and stomping pubs. Wrecking any thing on wheels. The patches got dumber. 1.7 set us back. Everyone went off to fight for their own factions and our little close knit family became more stressful.
I had started an officer channel and promoted a dozen guys. They were a step below director, it was the best I could do with the shoddy options CCP had for corp controls. 1.7 was a struggle, we lost a ton of good players to tank spam. It was tough having half of Proto AV being ineffective and losing players. The training got to us. We were always short with each other and I was becoming a douche. My officers were having little pity parties in private channels. I lost some really good friends in 1.7. FuckCCP.
The wolves that stayed were the hard asses. I will always respect their loyalty. All we really lost was our best logi a director and some crybabies. The worst part was they were all active. Oh well we had other things to worry about. 82 kept pushing us to get into PC. I felt it was a waste of cash if we couldn't feild a 16man team. I met maniak and he introduced me to Cyrax. We almost merged but the alliance is better. I personally would have went with Death Wolves over Canis ELiminatus but I couldn't join at first. I was suffering with RLpoverty at the time.
So 82 got us a district from Kane and we started learning about PC. Then all the tough guys decided they wanted to share new Eden rather than fight over it. Big whoop. It was more added stress and we never got to train anyway. That was a few weeks ago so I guess that's our story. There's a ton more but most of the milestones were covered.
