Good things about DNS? Challenging subject, but alright;
-They flood pub matches with proto stomps by using their bottomless ISK reserves. Which is eventually going to force CCPs hand into better matchmaking.
-Their stomping reduces my enjoyment which then reduces my time played. That is a good thing, cause when I have fun playing a game I just keep on playing and playing and then I put real money in the game. DNS saves me time and money.
-Their actions in Pubs discourage new players, which means less players on the server. So not only does that reduce lag, but it also speeds up matchmaking, cause it ends up being the same 50 people match after match.
-Seeing them refuse to fight eachother for the sake of ISK and online reputation makes me thankful I have a life. Everytime i start to get upset at things in life, i tell myself; "could be worse. My life could revolve around a video game".
-Choking both the competitive mode and the casual mode at the same time is going to kill the game. Which is also, good because it will allow CCP to divert resources over to more successful endeavors, and it will serve as a lasting example to future games as to how to not run a game and community.
-It allows for quick identification of bandwagoneers and sellouts. Before DNS you had to get to know someone to see what their character was. Now all you have to do is consult the alliance roster.
-And finally, it gives the community something to collectively hate. Which is good, cause it serves as a reminder to me that despite the hundreds of sellouts looking for a free ISK handout to afford their SP subsidized equipment, there still exists people with fight in them, who put playing the game before living the game. It good to be reminded of that time to time.
^Anyway, there you have it. Some reasons to be thankful for DNS. |
