Although I'm not great with a shotty I use Flaylock. A lot of times I am uncomfortable with pursuing someone who just got cover so I use my flaylock to finish them off in that small corner. Often when a big fire fight is happening it is equally a trap to go after a guy so I like to shoot the flaylock in that angle. In addition, if two heavies are hacking a null it's much easier to toss a nade and shoot 3 flaylock shots and watch them blow up together. It gives me the option of not having to sneak into a crevice to kill someone or make them panic.
That being said, lately I have been using the SMG trying to survive certain fire fights and see which one I like better. I miss my flaylock :(
BTW, If you are 5 in flaylock and use a proto version then you get almost 2 full meters which can jack up jumping scouts. |

Definitely a flaylock. On my minmatar shotty scout I always find I eat up PG and have a bunch of CPU left. The GN-20 Specialist flaylock and the standard flaylock both ONLY require CPU witch is quite useful. Also Shotty does +10% to shield while flaylock does +20% to armor (I think). Weapon synergy is key on a scout suit.

Actually these are very valid points. On top of all of that I now remember another reason. If you shoot at a uplink, occasionally, someone will have put an RE on it or under it. Having the flaylock range gives you a quick hit to equipment and keeps you safe from killing yourself. |

I use a Magsec with my shottyboomstick to give myself some range when i need it. The Magsec is a nice medium range compliment plus I like the auto for strafing. Good inside out combo.

Be a man and don't use a sidearm.
I don't run an smg on my plasma cannon because what's the point of using a plasma cannon if I'm just gonna use my sidearm in a pinch. I want plasma cannon kills not smg kills. That's why I usually only run a logi suit. better slots and no worthless sidearm. Just a shotgun and modules.

That is esoteric advice. as such it's not really advice for him but more self serving in nature.

My personal fittings use the SMG, and the Adv. variant use the M512-A. Though if you're good at pinpoint aiming in stressful situations (I'd say I'm pretty stressed when my shotgun runs out), the KLO-1 is a really good weapon, especially with a higher operation level (more ammo = happiness).
Though you could always try the Flaylock... *laughs on inside*

Assault smg all the way! Open maps a magsec and use the sg as your sidearm, but if your fighting cqc and need a fast finisher the smg is the way to go, my smg is pro 5 sharpshooter 5 and it's a mini bk cr, and if u use min scout the basic smg is 15/3 which is perfect for fitting and cost and with pro 5 a basic hits like a proto( jolly roger an a toxin smg = Nuff said)
Plus as far as pg goes smg is the lightest
