So back when 1.8 launched I decided to spec into the Amarr Scout because playing the under dog is always fun and challenging. But I went to quick with my SP and wasn't paying much attention. I ended up speccing accidentally into the CalScoout. I cried for about 10 seconds I remembered it's bonus. But I was out of SP so I decided to lolBrik tank until I had enough SP to get my EWAR modules on track. After a few weeks of grinding, I got my EWAR modules and went off with the brink tank scout FOTM.
And I can say that I am loving this! Since my EHP is low now, my play style depends on the cloak (lol scrub). I just mainly go behind enemy lines and activate my cloak and sit in a spot and let my passive scan do it's work. If my passive scans dont pick up anything I de-cloack and run for a new spot getting near the objective as I do (hint: I think running while cloaked is actually a hazard. Yes you can draw out your weapon. But there is a good 0.5 seconds and that could mean life or death so I always have my weapon ready when I am moving and use my cloaks when I am behind my enemy)
I have been using this playstyle this whole weekend. I can say I die WAY less than I used to do with my brick tanked CalScout. And I am enjoying this new way of play style.
Old CalScout fit: -Scout C/1 series -3 enhanced shield extenders -2 enhanced reactive armor plates -STD Shotgun -STD Magsec -STD Cloak -Nanohives
New CalScout fit: -Scout C/1 series -1 enhanced shield extender -2 advanced scan precision mods -2 STD scan amplifier mods -STD Combat Rifle (I love Mini weapons. Especially the MD... and his is comming from someone who loves armor tanking) -STD Magsec -STD Cloak -Nanohive
So you EWAR dedicated scouts. Will you be so kindly to share your fits with us? Also when and how did you guys started scouting?
I did back in Chromosome. Bought me a Starter pack because it was offering the "Toxin" SMG and the 'Dragonfly' Scout. So I started scouting since I got that suit. Only ran dual 'Toxins' on it while sporting kinkats. Good days

Because my main fit in Dust is Assaults. So I am always going for the flanks. My sig is not trying to insult anyone. It justs describes the current state of Dust and most cloaked scouts

1 x complex dampener 1 x advanced range amplifier
BR assault combat rifle ZN nova knives Standard flux
Advanced cloak Compact nano hive
Will upgrade the EWAR modules once I've got the skills, had been focusing on biotic and shield skills up until the 1.8 changes. Started scouting about 7 or 8 months ago, in response to the relentless 'you have been scanned' messages.

Lack of re on these fits is disturbing! RE + cloak! Come on!
Also I'm debating weather or not I want nova knives. Std seem to blow but I'm v Guessing the proto could be pretty damned solid. |

Well I haven't speced into them. They never really caught my eye to say. But with my current change of playstyle I might just spec into them. Leaving a surprise behind enemy lines or when someone is following me

At this point, I spend 80-90% of my time in Dust trolling with PLC + Flaylock or PLC + NKs, because it's more fun and satisfying to kill that way.
As for my serious fits, for when I'm actually trying to win:
For scout hunting: Scout CK.0 3x Complex precision enhancer 1x Complex shield extender 2x Enhanced range amplifier Viziam SCR (Alpha-ing clacked scouts when they think they're invisible is priceless) Toxin SMG Core Locus Clack RE to deal with heavies
For heavy hunting: Scout CK.0 4x Complex shield extender 1x Basic reactive plate 1x Enhanced range amplifier 'Dren' SG or BK-42 ACR or RS-90 CR depending on map/mood M209 Assault SMG Flux Clack X-3 hive

My usual fit when I run the Amarr "scout". Nothin says f*ck you like a preheated LR to the back of the head from behind enemy lines
P.S. If you ever decide to run Amarr scout please don't try to emulate the other races you will never KN as good as the mins nor scan as well as the Cals, and dont even TRY to out dampen the the Gals. CCP decided in their infinite wisdom to make the Amarr scout the "light assault that can easily use a cloak and run a bit longer" . EWAR is not your strong suit, but your tankiness will see you through many a battles that would squish the other scouts though.

scout and low hp.
my gal scout fit runs around with 700 HP and can evade pretty much everything cloaked except a caldari scout suit with 4 proto precision enhancers.
I can even with 500 HP on a minmatar scout and still evade all scanning.
I would not say that this is low hp considering that my minmatar assault runs with ~770 HP. |
