Before you all maul me and burn me at the stake for being a DNS member, let me tell you why NPE will improve over time.
Here's why:
Aim-assist: There was NO aim-assist when I started the game and if there was it was too small to notice. When AA was implemented it did start helping new players greatly. You may say "Well AA helps proto stomping crutch using A-holes". Well yes but most of those players can aim even without AA and would still kill you. Atleast now you can get some shots off on them before you die.
Recent TTK Reduction: When I first started this game the only thing I saw in the top right corner was:
Proto Scrub (Duvolle Assault Rifle) Newbs
This was when you could add more range to your guns and stack damage mode and could kill 1000EHP heavies in less than 2 seconds. Me being the heavy. Now not so bad right?
Academy (Somewhat): Unlike new guys now I was thrown against corporations like, Imperfects, Internal Error, Pink Fluffy Bounty Hunterz and many others. You think Nyain San is bad? These guys were the definition of "Just stop playing Dust 514 and go play dominoes". Nyain San is a "Weenie Hut Jr." compared to these guys.
I love playing with new guys and I really hope CCP speeds up on a better NPE experience, I posted this to those that say that NPE is bad and was always bad. I think the tutorial is better than the wall of texts you had to read to understand anything but it could still use some improvement.

NPE is still horrendous, hell I'm a closed beta vet with 40 million SP, and I HATE playing on my 3 million SP alt.

NPE is still WAAAAY far from OK.

Aim assist should be turned off for all competitive play battles. (planetary conquest)
Scrubs can have that crutch all they want in pubs. I have no problem with it.

I agree with him on there imperfects and PFB were worse than nyian san. Hated playing them in pc, so much lag. |

Hah, yeah, it has improved from open beta in a sense that you now go against proto scrubs in your MLT/STD gear instead of going against the best players Dust ever has and ever will have to offer that are using STD/ADV and still stomping your a$$. And back then there were only 4 players max in a squad. But they still stomped you.
R.I.P. Pre-1.7 Vehicles & AV, you will be missed.

You know a corporation tag doesn't define a person. Why would you assume that?
Only reason why I am even in DNS is because 98% of my social ties are there.

I started last January and I can barely remember any of the people that use to face stomp me. The only thing that comes to mind is me and a bunch of blueberries against a full team of Hellstorm.
Nonetheless, I stuck it out and so did many others. So, props to us for being masochists? |

Dust needs more game modes, player market influenced by eve, and eve dependent on dusties to take over planets for crucial resources for null sec alliances. CCP once talked about being able to board a titan take it over etc along with mechs. This game has a long way to go, I do miss old VK1 and Vk0 was the true form of assault logi. Yes 4 man squad owned one heavy with 3 assaults unstoppable. |
