Yes some players are better than others, but the real problem lies in the following...

1. The DNS alliance is mostly composed of Corporations that have some of the best players in DUST.

2. Members of the DNS alliance simply have to ask their corp directors for money and they get it handed to them 50 million isk at a time, they can ask as many times as they want because their alliance has hundreds of billions of ISK (because the DNS corporations make billions of isk every week from planetary conquest).

So what you currently have is a scenario where the best players with the most SP get to run proto gear in public matches with impunity.

Don't get me wrong, they don't need to run proto gear to win. They could run basic or advanced gear and they would still win easily (although the opposing team might get an additional 10-20 kills) but they run proto gear so that they can STOMP and deny the opposing team those 10-20 kills.

Why do they do this, the simple answer is because they can. They are gamers who want to have the best KDR and they will take every advantage they can to achieve it.

The only solution to this is better matchmaking. Many ideas have been floated by the community as to how this matchmaking could work, but I don't think it's on CCP's radar at the moment.

But think about people from top corps that play only with closed circle players and they always use maxed gear. Man even bpo gear with core skills up and experience beat freshmans using advanced stuff. Sometimes I play solo and what can I see? Totally freshmans from NPC's corps vs 2 organized squads. Starters vs proto. I was only person who killed somebody. Next one I'm with golden squads. After 3 minutes game is almost over. Few ones on opposite side went 0/10-15. Goldens farm uplink. I fluxed it and few of them start shooting at me. I love to do that to U and always will. Have U people got any proud? If CCP wanna increase player database they need to separate organized, high sp players from rest.

Some players are good with any gear and some need proto gear to hold against advanced. The reward will always be higher if you use low tier gear. A top player will run the highest ISK payouts with BPOs or ADV and will do just fine against proto and make more ISK. Gear,SP,WP or KDR restrictions are useless. This will help the game

However I would advise that if you're good, only squad up with 1-2 other people. That way you don't stomp the enemy. You also don't have to fight over kills when there's only 3 protos in your squad instead of 6. So...yeah. It's only stomping once you run full squads of protos. There's a few, but not many. Proto is used either by DNS cause they have unlimited isk. Or by full squads of proto who know their gunna stomp and avoid more than 2 deaths. But yeah, the truth is most times the players isn't proto would stomp you anyway. However I do l lose 1v1s to protos when they survive with barely any health left a lot. Those guys would be dead in adv. I also die to proto rails die t their insane range. Same goes to proto snipers and their ohk ability on my scout. So yeah, I'd say 50% or higher of my proto deaths wouldn't occur if the user had adv gear.

There is no 200.000 ISK Limit in pubs. My max payout was 480.000 ISK. The way payouts work is: As much more time passes and clones you kill your TEAM gets more ISK. Your share of the team ISK depents on your WP. The best scenario to make the most ISK is a skirmish won by MCC with your MCC with 1 health bar and the enemy clones down to 0. You are Nr1 on the leaderbords and the others are <1000WP under you. This will help the game

Highest pub payout was 1.4 million. I make anywhere from 15-25 million ISK a week just from playing until I cap out. In the past month I've given away about 300 million to people, usually ranging from 3-10 million per person And for the record. A full squad that typically runs all proto, when switching to Standard gear, they don't lose. The main difference in outcome of the match is kill distribution. Instead of one guy getting half the kills on the team, the squad all ends up with a more equal amount. The squad that does that ends up with more WPs total because more people get kill assists. Play matches with a higher payout to make more ISK, but your adversaries will be stronger. Play in pubs to make little ISK, enough to go militia or advanced, not enough to replace your pro suit. Unfortunately payout-based matches won't balance anything for a long time, with the many billions that corps have earned in PC. They have money to burn! And it wouldn't solve the problem with synched squads in pub matches either.

If you regulate by gear, people will start whining about "Those high SP players" CCP really needs to fix matchmaking. Playing against a team of newberries is painful. Redlines are no fun. Favorite round I've ever played was when we had 4 squads from 4 separate PC corps split onto two teams. Most exhilarating round ever. The ISK payout at the end was enormous, due to all the Proto being thrown around. I think I got around 700k, and I wasn't even in the top 6. I got my cloak and daggers, I'm a very happy Ghost I hack at Mach V
