What reason do players have for hoarding a lot of isk. Personally, I don't have much, about 70 million from running solo in pubs. However, I've always wondered why I need such an amount or what I could be saving it for. The only time I run proto is when I want to be an MCC Thale's sniping scrub, but even then, I can go 30 games without losing a single fit.
There currently is no player market and even if there was, there would be nothing worth buying. I'm tired of trying to make money whilst limiting my effectiveness on the battlefield. Therefore, I've decided to spend everything I have on proto fits and will be exclusively running them from now on.
What plans do you have for your isk? |

Well, I almost went broke from doing AMARR FW for a whole week(currently have ~1.5mil ISK). But, I've started to do Ambush with cheap suits.
Well, time to go Commando. Fill the Ranks at 703rd.

I hoard mine so it looks shiny in my wallet.
I normally end up giving it away to people who I feel deserve it like nice but poor dropship pilots.
I'm not finding ISK hard to come by atm. With a protosuit and an advanced weapon it's economical to die up to three times every match, which doesn't happen that often to me, so generally I'm profiting from pubs and even if I'm not I have a fair chunk of ISK to insulate myself from bad matches.

Just pledged 20 M to whoever drops a ds on Funkmaster Whale so I consider that isk well spent.
Other than that I'm just working filling a pool, swimming Scrooge McDuck style.

ISK is actually worth nothing...fiat currency so you might as well run proto til you are broke--more importantly have fun with it. |

1) It is fun listening to players wish they had it.

Lol, so no one really has a purpose for their ISK either?
No wonder why so many "good" players run proto consistently. They have the cash and no reason to save any of it. I'm so late to the game. |

A personal measure of combat efficiency. My Combat Engineer ALT slipped under 70 million since the start of the year. It finally forced me to use BPOs and retrain in order to deploy in a cheaper fit.

Lol... It's not as bad as my story.
Right when Uprising hit, I had about 120 mil refunded back to me. After reskilling into HMGs and Heavies, I dropped to about 2 mil within a month or two.
I tried everything to make my proto heavy viable at the time. All the deaths. All the frustration.. |

After the grind of getting your core upgrade and weapons skills up before getting your protosuit, you should have plenty of ISK to run proto regularly. That is pretty much the reward for putting up with CCP through the hard grind of throwing STD and ADV at all the 'PROs'. |
