Something like an orbital strike exists and is willing to be used?
How many orbitals could a titan launch. Doomsday strike anyone?
Just sayin'.
Discuss.

Just use orbitals directly on the MCC. It's that simple. It's not like they move.

Only because in this game certain things can't be destroyed. In actuallity, they could be. Nuke the damn objectives.

Why have an army when the United States can fire missiles from carriers and has access to a wide variety of different payloads?
Troops on the ground are capable of precision. You don't always want to glass your targets.

Discuss. For the same reason why we don't use nukes in modern wars. We don't want to destroy - we want to capture. Who wants to own 5 square kilometer of nothing?
I support BPO removal;
RDV to take your vehicles back;
and racial weapons on starter fits

that would defeat the purpose of capturing the base for use by the corp who hired the mercs

That gave me an idea. It would be so sweet if we could don space uniforms and infiltrate or take out EVE ships in Zero G!

Are uniforms ARE space uniforms! They're enclosed for a reason! It allows our clones to fight in almost any hazardous environment, space included.

Troops on the ground are capable of precision. You don't always want to glass your targets. There are no civilians, the buildings are indestructible, and a massive MCC explosion happens all the time anyway, along with bombardments.

NOt for long periods of time; just long enough to get from a Dropship to the ground.

Yes, but in this game we are willing to use the orbitals.

Again, we do use them in this game. There is no reservation nor is there fallout.

No need for the building. It is about capturing the district, the land. You then plop down your own structures. Again, we are already using this in game. We would still use it if the buildings were destructible.
Therefore, with no fallout and a willingness to use orbitals at leisure it is the perfect weapon. Ground forces are obsolete! We solved the problem of friendly fire and needless casualties!

lore wise you need boots on the ground to keep the population in check and not wipe out an entire planet leaving you with nothing but a dead planet to add to your empire
kinda like how the caldari prime event was.
EVE battle for space supremacy while Dust 514 was for ground supremacy

Freedom landing(or whatever it was called) was too resource rich to just nuke and the space elevator was too valuable.
They also couldn't bomb the AA guns because of the natural terrain. They needed to land a clone squad that disable the AA before they could do anything.
