Its merely a dream I have, a way of playing the game in a limited way, for the veteran players mostly.
What if playing faction warfare had limitations to what you can bring into battle. Playing for Minmatar, you can only use a Minmatar suit and only minmatar guns, same goes for vehicles. And so on.
It would just be increadibly cool to see a fight between Gallente, all the ARs, all the rephives vs Caldari with their faster shields and RRs - this just as an example.
This would lead to the "arch setups" of the various factions hardware to be put up against each other and by extension it would be fun to see how those battles pan out.
Off course, as the game is today this is not feasible. We don't have all the racial vehicles, only 2.15 dedicated AV weapons and so on.
But just as a thought, for the future, when we got all the stuff, and we have a fairly sizeable playerbase of multi specced vets this could be very cool indeed...

I hate seeing vehicles in Minmatar FW.
It really breaks the immersion when your fighting tooth and nail against Amarrians and then a Gallente or Caldari Dropship flies past you.

Not factional, but in the relatively distant future, it would be cool if we could accept missions from nationalist extremists to do something like "demonstrate the superiority of our race's technology" and whatnot.

So you're saying that in EVE, for exmple: the Caldari army/fleet/whatever uses Amarr weapons? And buy them on the free marked?
Not in actual gameplay, but lore wise.
(I have no idea about the lore part.)
This just seems silly, it would be like Valor using SVER guns in MAG....

Well you aren't part of the navy, you're a mercenary. You use the tools best suited to get the job done. If you want to be a loyalist, that's on you, but there is nothing stopping you from fielding the best gear for the job, because you are not tied down to any given factions fleet. Even in a factions Militia in EVE, you aren't tied down to that races equipment, because it's an economy based game. You buy and use what is needed.

Mercs in EVE, mercs in Dust - got it.
So in Dust FW its about the various factions paying you (Well not paying you) to help out their military forces fight a battle on their behalf.
So what I'm really asking for is, as someone said; "A loyalist game mode" - where only one factions gear is available is what I'm really asking for. In effect, you play the role of a conscript in a national army.
Did I get it right?

It's a descent future goal for when we have all the racial gear, but right now it would be silly just considering equipment, you know? Only Caldari get to cloak? Minmatar get all the reps? Etc etc. The game is WAY too far from balanced to support a game mode like that, but some day, yes, in theory it could be fun.

That is not what FW is about the only limitations it needs is who you can fight for at any one time, a single faction, so that trading between Factions Stores actually becomes a requirement to get certain gears.

Don't worry, it'll have all the hallmarks of Gallente glory. A nice short range (much shorter than the HMG, naturally) and an actual damage stat! It'll actually do damage. Nevermind that it'll inevitably do much less damage than the HMG, it'll actually be able to kill militia light frames if they're untanked and they sit still in front of you!
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

So the Minmatar who are architecturally weak to tne Amarr get completely screwed all the time? So the Gallante who are architecturally weak to the Caldari get completely screwed all the time? The whole of factional warfare becomes a stomp fest but only for 2 of the factions?
What happened to "You may find yourself fighting for loyalty, for money, or simply because it's what you're good at."
I am a Mercenary, I'll fight for whoever I feel like, for whatever reasons I choose and I should be free to do it in whatever gear I believe will get the job done. No offense, but no thanks, I don't want to skill into gallante suits just so I can put a few federation reactive plates on my Minmatar Suit.

No, no, no that's almost as badly restrictive. You should be able to fight for at least 2 factions, instead fighting for say the Amarr will dramatically reduce your loyalty with minmatar, twice as much as fighting 1match for minmatar would decrease it, then it also reduces gallante by 1 matches worth.
As such you can now never have more than 2 maxed out at a time. Then dependent on your loyalty level you can only by certain tiers of gear.

This is where the P-2-P market viability comes from.
