Choosing right equipment on radial screen and then activating it is too complicated and lead to missclick situations in heat of battle. I don't care that you do not have space to assign free button on pad, combination of L2+R2 may work as well for me. We had similar problem with switching weapons in past, and people that 'cried' for it get what they deserve - with cloak, sometimes I don't have CPU/PG to fit another weapon so it look legit to allow me use 'switch weapon' button to switch weapon to Cloak equipment, or even activate it instantly.

Yes, I had several occasion to try out Logibro. All that good Logibro supposed to do is to stick to front-guy back and supporting him, it has nothing to do with heat of battle actually... what you said have sense only if you pretend to be Logibro. I agree that "people that cried got what they wanted" may sound stupid only for people who are new here, for all others it is just funny fact.
And I don't care what you think if it's not constructive. Go back to Academy or whatever you were doing..

We should be reducing UI interference as much as possible. Just make it like the needle, hold reload and it activates. Obviously the needle would take priority if over a body.

Why don't you go back to the academy and learn how to use the weapon wheel and how to use a scout suit? Maybe you could also learn that there is more to a logi than just constantly having your reptool out.
About the crying thing? I guess each his own sense of humor...but it's still a stupid argument to have the weapon wheel changed because you fail to use it...so how am I supposed to give constructive feedback other than say that your logic is flawed? Maybe you would understand it when I react with some nerd-humor like 'get g00d, scrub'? |

Well...
The equipment wheel could have better functionality.
But there's no need to make the cloak more easy to use that other EQs. In fact, cloak is stupendously powerful and easy to use.
Came back to Dust from a break and what did I find?
Cloakies with physical invisibility which works in all situations.=(

That is true, but where one can one should try no? Otherwise, we'd all still be switching to our needles manually, or looking around at our teamates one by one trying to figure who has 5hp of armour left.
Balancing cloaks with shoddy UI - that's original lol.

Where did I write that I want "weapon wheel changed" - I want be able to assign equipment item to button or combination of buttons. It seemed to me that there is no person who would not want that kind of option, but here we have.. boy that live in London Docks next door to TQ server, and he never met with something like "lag" at all..
Ow.. maybe you are right, and it's my fault that I can not predict when game will start laaaging, and cause missclick on radial screen, damn I didn't think about it.. you have made my day so very happy, thank you.

Dust needs the ability to change your quick swap...this is something that the Socom games did. Just like Dust, they had the pop up radial menu, but they had the ability to select (at will, with the radial menu pulled up, you would hover over the item and tap a button) which items would be swapped between by tapping the button. So for example, as a logi you could select your repair tool as your quick swap while you are near that heavy and then, when he refuses to push on to the next objective to take, you can change it to your scanner. |

I love it, because it is something that everyone can benefit from regardless of whether you are DS pilot, Logibro or Scout.

The radial wheel is awkward as hell. I had a nickle for every time my aim was just slightly off.
Oh, and the cloak is great for escaping battles. not going head to head in a hopeless battle IS using the scout right.

It would be great if we could map the buttons on our controllers to specific items on our fits, many people have also been asking for map able buttons for both the DS3 and keyboard like Eve has, gotta say I agree. +1

Oooh so the problem is lag now? Didn't read anything about it in your first post. If that's the problem...your combo-buttons won't work either.
Look at your title. Look at your post. You just want a easy-mode button for your cloak...not a change to ALL equipment.

or maybe avoiding those situations in the first place is? |

or maybe avoiding those situations in the first place is? Be constructive and stay on topic. There is a legitimate need for map able buttons, just because you do not see it and want to run around using the same combination of buttons until the end of time does not mean that everyone else does. Grow up.
It isn't just scouts asking for this, or something similar. Would you not benefit from this option as well?

or maybe avoiding those situations in the first place is? Now you are focusing too much on details, and I think that you are doing this because you want to pay-back for humiliation which you think you felt at some point in this topic(which is completely unnecessary).
I named topic in this way because I'm Scout, and I care about Scouts as primery. If I would prefer playing as Commando, or Logi I would name it in different style, but for now cloak is more important for me, and thats why it dominates in title.
After a some time of observation I can say that I know how CCP works. For example if we would have 100 players on server, pushing through idea that makes 4 guys happy and 80 unhappy thats not something that gone fly. So in order to convince inaf people to approve idea that you like, you need to evolve and present it in way that gives everyone some benefits that they would like. We can not think about mechanic without thinking how to counter it and balance it in future-game.
If 'quick swap' idea, that Vaux Karn presented would be implemented it would for sure give me benefits - I would be able to turn on my cloak faster, but also it would allow everyone others to countermeasure it by assign Scanner in to 'quick swap' button, so they can use it faster and counter my escape. There of course different way to balance it as well like adding more sparking effects to activating cloak, or adjusting sounds.
I bet that you were already bombarded by CCP listens to all community ideas, and they really do, but they pickup only ideas that are supported by solid crowd. I'm optimistic guy and I have no illusions that whatever I'm initiated 'here' will not see tabel of developers dial board's meeting, and will more like(at best scenario) end up in 'maybe in next year' busked, with other cool things - it iss succeed for me at some point.
And of course I'm human being and I make mistakes sometime, I possess magical power to admit to them also(I know, it's shocking). Motivating someone to do more instead of sitting in the same spot is not negative thing .
