All the other Assault suits have a bonus that applies to both light and sidearm weaponry. But the Amarr only see a benefit to light weaponry. Can we get some of that ScP RoF back?
Oh and let the Minmatar have that MD bonus ffs. They're rare enough as it is.

It would make a lot more sense than what we have now imo.
I also think we could put in heat sinks as high slot mods. Possibly add overheat to all plasma weaponry too. Low slot damage mod, high slot heatsink. They both make sense in terms of desired racials slots as an alternative to dual tanking.
It would also let them rebalance weapons like the lolAR and the lolPLC by making them more powerful and adding in overheat to compensate.
Would give each race their own feel. Projectile is just run and gun with big clip size issues and zero overheat, rail has charge time and a little bit of ammo/clip size issues, laser has massive overheat problems and almost no reload/clip size issues and plasma is little bit of overheat and little bit of clip size. |

Completely agree. I've suggested a long time ago that all weapons should have heat buildup of varying degrees depending on weapon type.
I'd also want to see low slot damage mods and high slot heat sinks. Heat sinks should be carefully designed though. You don't want them to be too effective when coupled with the Amarr assault Maybe heat sinks can just speed up both standard and overheat cooling speeds. I'd definitely fit those to my Amarr assault instead of some shield extenders.

It's already been plotted a thousand times.
Honestly though, the ScP already outperforms the IoP in almost every way. Restoring the RoF would make the ScP utterly dominate the IoP even with an overheat mechanic. Do note that the IoP has an overheat mechanic as well (an exceptionally sloppy one).
That said, I dislike having any pistol that has a RoF low enough to be subject to oversampling.
Also, I don't like the idea of shoehorning overheat into a weapon just so one suit can have an already exceptionally powerful bonus get a little bit better.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

As someone who used to run a scrambler pistol as a main, it definitely should not go back to it's old ROF. Unless all other pistols and side arms are brought up to the scrambler pistol's level of ridiculousness, it got a sensible nerf. The scrambler pistol is insanely easy to oversample now but if you hit the rhythm you can still fire it fairly fast.
Scrambler pistol is still better than most lightweapons.

No stop asking for silly stuff. The amarr bonus is amazing. It applies to two light weapons currently. When an amarr SMG is released then you'll have your side arm. Idk why you need it though, the SR is the best gun in the game when used by the Amarr assault.

Swap the mechanics of the ScP and Ion, then the Amarr Assault bonus could apply to the ScP and Gal Assault to the Ion.

I would be all for seeing a very unforgiving over heat mechanic on the ScP if it meant I could actually get 3 shots off before that scout with his combat rifle cooks my suit.
It always has been a bit weird to me that it is suppose to be a laser weapon yet works nothing like a laser weapon. The numbers on the ScP pre-1.8 would suggest it was originally meant to have it.

The SCP doesn't need any tweaking to its RoF at all. It is *perfectly fine and properly balanced now*.

Try shooting one of these m/kb scouts with it and tell me again that it is "perfectly fine". It was perfectly fine before (tho a damage reduction would not have hurt) but the assholes using turbo controllers exploiting it ruined it for the rest of us.
