I believe a laser style Amarr weapon would be suiting for this game. It fits storyline and race traits.
Maybe it glows blue when cloaked scouts are around! OMG and stores neatly at your side as a little handle until turn on!
Really though: It is suiting Amarr they do copy that stuff, their statues in station show this style of weapon in EVE.
BUT really
Nova knife needs a buff - I suggest passive charge ability and the ability to hold them cloaked.
Shotgun scouts can pop and shoot. Pop, charge, attack for the same effect. Holding the knifes out for what ever sec should auto charge and repeat passively.
Nova sword would be a full out Cloak weapon main hand. Playing the Rifle/Knife backwards as Sword/Sac

A Nova Sword would be Caldari,
As for an Amarrian Sword, there is already a weapon being made called the Scrambler Lance that may become exactly what your looking for.
HAV > Infantry > AV < HAV

Also, I'm a little baffled as to what this obsession with 'nova' melee weapons is. I've seen some weird suggestions : nova battleaxes, nova hammers, really? Why?

Wasn't the scrambler lance supposed to be the Amarrian heavy weapon?

Why do people so often get the complete wrong idea when it comes to the 'scrambler lance' and assume it's going to be a melee weapon. A 'lance' of lasers is quite frequently in fiction a big long ranged heavy weapon, you hear about them all the time as 'batteries of lances' etc.

I have not heard about that.
I would just like to see a melee main hand weapon also.
CCP is usually really good at allow many playing styles. Melee main and range second hand would be cool.
Something has to help the poor pistols that suck. |

And making a nova sword for the Caldari would be redundant as you would have two melee weapons which would behave in a very similar fashion.
