So after a planetary op in which i hauled goods intended for culinary services in Todaki V (Cal space for you guys) I was given a rare opportunity to try a seemingly old recipe for rice cakes: Red beans soaked in water for 6 hours and then cooked, with a small and sticky layer of sweet white rice coated in Soybean powder.
it was written in a style of Caldari tongue i dont know, or if it even is Caldari but when i asked what was it, the person who prepared it simpy said "Ohagi"
the rice itself was really sticky; Thankfully the soy powder coating helped to migitate that. But even then, I had to chew on the cake in small bites for a while to keep from it sticking to my mouth.
but it was very good. soo good i offered to buy the recipe from the chef who knew how to make it, but he politely refused, saying it was an family heirloom. But still he gave me a small box of rice cakes as a thank you after which i departed. as of right now im eating one of these cakes and i must say, they are simply Indescribable in taste.
and thus will begin my craving for old fashioned, prepared food. If any merc's who are culinary refined know of any locations which serve unique dishes from the corners of new eden, let us all know :D, maybe i will go there one day to try them out :] |

entry 2: fit for a king
i was granted special leave from my superiors from Ishukone and due to my unusual history with gallente federation, i was permitted to enter Gal space.
before i became immortal, there was an old saying among cargo pilots, Gal-space is the perfect place for anything. in a sense, thats very true: no other place in new eden has the sort of diversity and, well "Personal freedom" gallente possess. that sort of freedom allows for a grand level of flexibility when managing cargo running contracts and goods
which is why i was slightly suprised when i ran into a chef who was amarrian in origin.
Now initially i was suprised, he was shocked but when the one sided glares and the insults passed we started talking. Turned out he was formerly the head chef to the house of Kor-Azor, which meant he had a vast knowledge on amarrian cuisine. how he is in Gal space is a mystery, but he told me that he grew "Disillusioned" with the faith, when he began offering some of his meals to slaves working not far from his kitchen.
it greatly affected him, seeing the foods they would eat prior to the day's workshift, which he said "Consisted of a small gray bar of nutrients and a flask of water, before sent out into labor."
but that aside, I asked if i could try his most popular dish, achnyia-u reshjvajan (Lit. "Food of emperors" i think, sorry my amarrad is very rusty) and the chef smiled , like a kid given his favorite candy.
its a very lavish, if not simple steak, tenderized by traditional methods, followed by a sweet, Gravy-like honey, topped in mashed potatoes and a juice made out of a tangy, citrus-like fruit. a simple if not very laborious process (and expensive) in which the steak is prepped, marinated slightly and cooked using his techniques he learned while with kor-azor. afterwards he slices up the steak and serves it in a single white plate, with the gravy-honey served in a different plate. (picture here)
after the firsst bite however.....
my god it was soo delicious, i had never had a steak that juicy, nor flavorful in my life; the harbs and spice he added was a perfect compliment to the gravy-honey,and washing it all down with that drink made it feel like heaven on new eden. after around half an hour of eating i was finished, i paid my bill to the old man and thanked him for allowing me to taste a good dish, he simply smiled and sent me off with a different appreciation for amarr cuisine; jeezus i felt like a freaking empress when i left his restaruant . it was satisfying a meal i wont forget soo...
ah? wait... well my leave is almost up, time for me to head back into Cal-space
till next time o7

ahh... home sweet home:
well i asked for and received leave for a few day and i decided why not return to the wildlands. along the way i ran into an old friend of mine, the current captain of my former Ship, the Se'terra.
*nostalgic sigh*
i miss Uhemas, Ma'lakin and Siias... if there were ever peace between new eden, it was in the se'terra. a few scuffles had arisen when i hired them but over time we developed into something like a family, always making sure the crew was behaving well among the other races, quelling any newcomers about racial diversity, and so on..
well, once issac and myself got past the "good ol days"i asked if he could give me a ride to the wildlands, to which he accepted, only if i got back into the reigns of my ship. it was like slipping onto an old set of shoes that you loved. it felt odd, it was a tad uncomfortable but once the ball got rolling it was like i never left.
im going to stop this blog for now as the bridge is looking at me wierd, they're new faces but i want to take my time in learning more about them, getting to know more about the crew.i'll finish up once we are in the Great Wildlands, over my home planet.
till then, N'yt Dy'ohas Atho Wynarii |

quite a few days eh? my last entry had me hastily shutting down my datapad when a few rats with the rabbit logo appeared. concord's responses are certainly getting faster at quelling their attacks.a few hours after that we arrived in the wildlands at last. while the crew is resting in the station, i took the time to listen in on their conversations, get to know the group. after a few days of chatting with the crew above i decided to fly a dropship with issac and some trusted members of his crew planetside.
I missed this place. truly. the familiar forests, the deserts, the oceans and the wildlife in the wildlands. but i never forgot it, not once when i slept, avoiding the nightmares and the shell-shocked events, not after the murder of human life( while essentially clone soldiers) not since i essentially semi-retired from the mercenary life.
maybe i wasnt meant to be a soldier...
regardless, my father was waiting for me with a smile on his face. i know for a fact that he wants to hear of my stories, so i'll add more to this the next day, along with the stlye of home cooking, and a little history of the Se'terra/
so untill then,

Ahhh...... home sweet fecking home :D
i awoke this morning from a long night to find my father holding council among the other village elders. matter's of logistics and resource harvesting. after chatting with them for a few hours, the topics went from what i said earlier to how my life as a clone soldier went. to be honest i wasn't honestly prepared to talk much about it. i only told them of caldari prime though; how i saw the shiigeru as i tried to fly away with what's left of my unit ( i was fighting for gallente btw, assigned to the 25th regiment, 2nd battalion Shocktroopers) and i how my dropship was swatted out the air. how..... helpless i felt.
Being immortal has one downside, and probably what i would like to call "Our curse" that is the curse of knowing what death feels like. every mortal there has some idea of what dying feels like, it could be the loss of motivation, the loss of a limb, the drifing in and out of comas, fighting for your lives.
but for us its an everyday occurence; legs blown out, trampled underneath tanks , ripped apart by forge rounds, riddled with bullets, strewn to bits by grenades, entire craniums emptied by a sniper, burned alive by smoldering wrecks of our vehicles, brains scrambled, arms broken, lungs gasping for air, dissolved by acid, shotgunned in the back and the list goes on, and on many of our brethren are trained to ignore it, chalk it up as a learning experience and improve from there.
but what about people like myself?
once i finished i left from the council meeting and stood outside with a cup of cold water, looking at the station above the planet, staring at it, knowing that somewhere inside, the se'terra is docked, nice and neat.. haha, ahh that ship was a thing of beauty..
The Se'terra was commissioned by my father in YC 95, a decade or so before the Elder fleet invaded amarr space, looking , finding and rescuing our kin from the clutches of a religion that proclaims a means of enlightenment by forced (or subtle) subjugation. originally a mammoth-class vessel, its a one of a kind ship for a few reasons:
1. electronics, processing systems, and computer-based processing was overhauled to the standards of the Prowler-Class blockade runners, meaning that it was fully capable of maintaining warp capabilities while using covert-ops cloaking modules.
2. a hardpoint was retrofitted to accomadate a cargo bay, complete with cargo-class MTAC's for easier organizing and storing of cargo. this meant that i can fit more things into the Se'terra, about as much as the upgraded Mastodon-class (even more so when i DID upgrade the Se'terra into the mastodon- class transport ship, go figure :] )
3. a very good crew. every ethinicity, every race, every bloodline etc. a very colorful people working to keep this ship afloat. this was no feat to accomplish. fortunately my father before me know how to keep a group like that together, and later on, he taught me how as well.
for us Thukker's, we have the idea that when every one of us dies, we gather into grand caravans and explore the other realms of the afterlife, searching for "paradise" to do so, we need everyone to work as one, be it trader to criminal, captain to 'slaves', warriors to scholars, everyone is needed. Thus the quote:
"There is no such thing as Minmatar, Amarr, Gallente or Caldari so long as you walk within the Se'terra"
(closing this entry in a rush, Issac and I plan on undertaking the "Trials" again.
till next time

did you know that Issac is amarrian?
*Dramatic gasp* Say it ain't so!
(Adamance, you'd like this) I think he's a member to the house of Kador. Not sure, maybe some other house. but all i know is that he's formerly from the imperial Navy. a very 'by the books' kinda guy. neat clothing, with a service pistol always at his right leg. he recite's scripture in his sleep, his favorite food is a slice of smoked honeyed ham with a side of mashed potatoes (Every. single. day) and his favorite part of being a member of the se'terra is ordering people around like a.....
*ahem* he's looking at me know, so im holding off on the insults (Honestly, its fun pushing him around at times )
he's softened up on the whole "amarr is best" bullsh*t since i became immortal and he's following the one rule i've always preached, so i think the Se'terra is in good hands for the time being. that is until he produces slave collars and....
ok moving on now, just a little entry for a bigger one later in the day. *cough* Issacwetshisbed *Cough*

back from the wild section of my home planet, back from the trials relatively unscathed, save for a few gashes on my arms , lower torso and legs. compared to what a typical merc goes through on a day to day basis, these scars i choose to keep now, a testament to my people that my path hasnt been altered.
why?
well, given the fact that the space-faring section of my kin's trials are scarce enough, planest-side Thukker tribesmen and women's trials differ even more so. (This occasionaly causes some tension between the two "Sects" of my people)
so, the trials, what are they?
they are difficult, draining, just plain brutal tests designed to observe and determine if you gained enough knowledge to survive on your own for an extended period of time. the test vary from resource gathering, to hunting and survival tactics. this can work in different ways, as we tend to become well known traders and smugglers, couriers and so on.
after the tests are over you then are considered as someone fit to carve your own path, to wear the scars of your failures, the possibilites of your successes and the experiences as a whole.
haha, and now that i am back to my home i need some grub. thankfully there is a banquet coming up for those who succeeded the trials, and im invited.
in a few days i'll be heading back to Ishukone to continue my employment there. but later on?
hmmm, not sure, i still have that post about the se'terra i need to finish up *shrugs* oh well.
till next time o7

For f's sake, typing in this wristcomp sucks, It's an older model, unlike the newer versions; voice typing just isn't a big thing for the wristcomp I have right now.
Anyways, back from a series of training exercises from ishukone watch. I was selected by the watch to field-test a new variant of the heavy-class dropship( for mortals, sorry) under development by my employers. Given my fondness for flying and not tediously looking over operations, I was a natural choice. It's a given inspiration for the rumoured caldari fighter jets we've heard in the past years or so for our kin( go search it) but alot more bulkier in terms of shield output and armor specs
The biggest upside was that , you can fit alot of guns on the sumbitch swore someone from the R&D branch was having a wet dream when he designed it
The downside is that its very CPU intensive, by the time I could fit adv weapon module, factoring in ammo caches and heat cool down time till I can fire again, I had little enough to add modules that can help the HDS survive. Firing specs with a adv. Lvl forge gun with weapon mods on a four man team will have 12 direct hits until I have to scream out " METAL CASKET!!!" (pilot's slang for ' this aircraft is f**ked) a few shield hardeners will bump it up to 22 direct hits, but I'll take those chances anyday
Given that the has requires a pilot, copilot and a gunner to operate,I settled on mobile artillery, you can attach a single railgun turret to one side of the HDS and a smaller one for anti air and you can do some pretty massive damage launching slugs at any enemy....
Now if they can adapt that to clone use I'd have a reason to fly that thing all the damn time :D
Anyways, break time is over time to get back to work, only another few weeks until I can have another vacation. Till then,
N'yt Dy'ohas Atho Wynarii
(note: The railgun turret? Think of the ones from the large installations...
Yeah, those... I'll wait for that info to sink in :3) |

Plasma planets are a *****.
period.
more on that later, im stuck in a backwater Ishukone Research facility somewhere in my home reigon. Orbital elevator has been damaged during one of the storms, and the shielding systems in my Tethys-class heavy droship are in serious need for repair ( because of the plasma), if only i had a small crew and the available supplies i'd be outta here, but Noooo, the researchers are too busy with their heads shoved up their asses imagining all sorts of improvements to plasma-based shielding systems rather than actually experimenting on them.
*few deep breaths later*
sorry, its just that navigating a plasma planet is borderline insane even by our standards, given all that we've been through as clone soldiers, and to make it worse, i have to use Caldari dropships, rather than the modified Matari variants i've rigged especially for this run.
*sigh* oh well, once the parts i need make it to the outpost i can begin repairs and return topside, but for now i gotta hole up here for a few days more.
till next time, and hopefully once im out of this fecking planet i can explain more in detail

whoo... ok, vacation time :D
so, where was i, Plasma planets.
so, plasma planets are just planets that made a "recipe for making beautiful plasma storms, when viewed from a distance away. bombarded with solar radiation, whatever gases within a particular planet will ibe stripped of their electrodes en masse, effectively known as a plasma storm.
now up close and personal.... standard protocols for re-entering the atmosphere of a plasma planet are virtually nonexistent. this lies in a few factors that contribute greatly towards any endeavor of said re-entry
first, most plasma storms are two layers , first is the high speed plasma, encircling the top layers of the planet. because plasma up there has little friction to go around, the speeds in which these storms form are terrifying. i've heard of countless stories of unlucky bastards who's dropships ripped apart when the typical approach of re-entry failed outright.
the second is slow-moving ,extremely dense suspended plasma, which aside from completely frying your electronics, will turn your dropship into a bubbling mass of metal and charcoal within seconds. the thing about this layer is that its in the lower altitudes, say... 3000 meters high and downwards. avoiding these pockets of suspended plasma will take alot of patience and time.
and a small ounce of luck. that always helps too. :D
the third factor is its topgraphy. the rockier the terrain may be, the more likely that you can find shelter from the storms. out in the open is just asking for a death wish. so on top of navigating around suspended plasma, you must best emphasize balance between making it to your destination as fast as possible and making sure your dropship can survive the trip.
fortunately, my people found of ways to enter theses beautiful monstrosities, and requires three-five things before any entry attempt can be made, which my Fellow Thukker tribesman had dubbed this approach "Riding the storm"
one, an Atmos Scan of the average atmospheric composition, to adjust the fusion reactors of your dropships so that they will not activate as much plasma as possible. less plasma in your engines= longer shelf life.
two, wind readings of the top layers of the of the plasma storm. this is to try and find "holes" in the storm. this would be your entry point. since the high-speed layer of plasma covers mostly 2/3rds of the atmosphere, you need to "ride" the plasma as much as possible when going about your descent.
three, a deep scan of the planet's topagraphy, to simulate and determine where would be the best routes to take, and in case of emergencies, where to take shelter should the storms get worse.
and finally, the most important thing ever:
DO.NOT. USE. SHIELD .VARIANTS. i cannot stress this enough, the plasma-based shielding of your dropship will take a severe pounding on both sides, and most of its delicate control systems can, and will fail by the time you reach your intended destination. i will also take note that should our kin decide to fight in plasma planets, be sure to specialize in armor- based dropsuits. they will save your life in more ways than one.
anyways, that will be all on plasma planets, maybe i'll get into depth with the other variants ,but for now i'll be spending some time in malkalen, and then making my way towards the Wildlands,
till next time -Hya'salia Jun'kio |

vacation time is over for me, things to do, stuffs have to be made....
but oddly these sets of contracts for me are one of an odd sort. my employers from Ishukone, along with the Watch, have brought me and a few other Pilots in towards the Wildlands, to participate in Planetary landing exercises.
'what does the Thukker tribe have to say about it? ' they would ask, to which i would reply
'Anything to aid pilots of any race or creed must have access to this information, only then will you have our backing'
that's what they have said. so I will be participating with these excursions, and writing the gist of these exercises in this here little blog of mine covering planets. :D
till then, the first planet type we'll be doing will be the frozen type (Ice planets)
see ya! |
