Not really, because the Minmatar scout is simply more suited to having a knife bonus than the Caldari - being a faster and more fragile unit.

Just because they're "more suited" doesn't mean it fits lore. If they were supposed to have a knife, then CCP should've given them long steel swords. Nova Knives are Caldari and should be fitted to them thus, not a race based around primitive explosions and bullets (which, realistically, wouldn't be doing anything to shields/little to armor).

Nova knives are made by the ishukone corporation, who also provided the antidote to amarr vitoc (a drug that they use to control their slaves). They provided the antidote *for free*. Minmatar loev ishukone. Ishukone ???? minmatar.... ??? PROFIT?!

Minmatar are kind of like a cross between MacGuyver and Red Green (from the red green show). Give them a few solar panels, a few rusty sheets of metal, a couple of rolls of duct-tape and you'll come back to a -somewhat- functional starship. They salvage a lot of things, but when they're essentially given a trash-heap they can turn it into a junkyard war.

Actually Minmatar are hand to hand combat specialist. So melee and knives fit in with the lore.

EDIT: Basically my theory is that CCP will change the bonus to 25% more damage to knives, rather than Nova Knives (if you didn't see my previous post  ).

Yep, they all have different knives.
All we know right now is that caldari knives charge- like every other caldari weapon but sniper rifles (which really should require a charge)
Going from that, we can assume that racial knives will be somewhat like the other racial weapons. Minmatar rapid-damage chainsaw knife, anyone?
