So I am loving that the HP for equipment is now extremely low, before it was sorta crazy how long they took to take out. It was a needed change. But I am feeling that it is far too easy to destroy massive amounts of equipment with plain nades (and other explosive aoe weapons). Too often I see the caldari logi in my squad having all of his precious hives destroyed in an instant because someone decided to sneeze on them. The truth of the matter is, we need hives at the front lines where we are fighting, not far away in some corner so they don't get destroyed by stray explosions.
Now I still think equipment should be easy to take out if you shoot at it, but I was thinking that maybe equipment (hives, uplinks) needs to have a large reduction to damage from explosive weaponry. This would not effect flux grenades, which I feel are currently lacking a viable niche. This would make flux nades the go to weapon to destroying hive/link nests. Flux nades are already a good choice for this, but lets be honest, you can accomplish almost the same thing with regular nades.
Good idea? Or am I just crazy...

it used to sometimes take an entire clip of a flaylock to kill a nano.
That pistol is crappy enough without that kind of harsh reminder.

Eh, I'm all for keeping it as it is. I understand the pain of losing my EQ but if they are going to waste their one nade on my EQ instead of on a teammate, I'm all for that.
I'm also much more in favor of hoarding my EQ (unless its an uplink) until its needed. After a harsh push or when my teammates request it, I'll give them some ammo love. Otherwise, hives kinda go to die since everyone is so mobile. I never get as much use out of my hives as I hope to.
Also, lately, I don't even use grenades to take out EQ. I melee them. It doesn't cost me ammo or a grenade and for STD/ADV, its one strike. When I hit it once and the EQ still lives, I immediately know its a proto EQ and warn the team to look out for the protos.

This might be a place for additional equipment variations. RF shielded would provide some resistance to flux nades with a reduction in effectiveness and/or increase in fitting cost as a balance. Hardened equipment would provide resistance to explosive/splash damage and/or additional HP with similar balancing penalties.

Working as intended - Easy to spam and easy to destroy.
Maybe the bubble ship will help with that.

Keep it as it is. When theres a room full of uplinks and nanohives my mass driver gets me 100 WP in 2 rounds. Like it should do.
Seriously, if you had a cal logi standing on 3 proto repping nanohives with a rail rifle. Hes an invisible long ranged destroyer of worlds. Now however, if you get one MD round at his feet then he goes from destroyer of worlds to a destroyer of smaller worlds.
This my friends, is called balance.

No, my friend, a heavy with a rail rifle is the destroyer of worlds.

Maybe you shouldnt stack them so close together then Im being dead serious given that you know exactly what radius a hive has for instance and exactly what radius an explosion has so its not that difficult to set them up so a grenade wont take out a whole cluster while still having them close together
I'll start my own war, with hookers, and blackjack!
In fact forget the war and the blackjack.

Has anyone noticed how the heavy melee has splash damage (or at least appears to)? You can punch from a foot away and still destroy the nanohive or uplink. |

Fluxes are immune terrain glitches and other shenanigans since they go through walls. Equipment will often survive just because it was on the same level or "behind" something.
