Why must it suck so gratuitously? It does less damage per second than a basic swarm launcher. The PLC's direct damage should be multiplied by 1.5 or even doubled. PLC DPS: 1050/(0.6 + 3.5) = 256.09 DPS STD SL DPS: 880*3/(1.4 + 1.4 + 1.4 + 4.50) = 303.44 DPS

Direct damage makes a dual wielding commando far more effective than a forge gun heavy for short term AV.
GalMando would be hitting for 2500 damage per PLC. Which is more than Breach FG.
There are more ways to balance than pure damage - a snare effect (courtesy of Himiko) or a burn effect would be far better, I think.

But it still shouldn't get outDPSed by a STD swarm launcher, a snare effect doesn't solve that and CCP has already said that they're not going to be implementing damage over time for technical reasons, at least not soon or even SoonTM. It needs something that compensates for its combination of single shot, charge time, slow projectile, and arc. It is literally bad in every possible way.

CCP has this thing about Gallente weapons. It gives them painfully short usable range or some gimmick like the ludicrously slow plasma shot, and then of course the weapon has to pay for that wonderful range luxury that they have with a large amount of damage.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

What is wrong with a Plasma Cannon doing more damage per shot than a Forge Gun? Why should Forgeguns have more Damage and more Range? Plasma Cannons take more skill and require you to get closer, they should reward that with damage.
At least 1.5x the damage it does currently...

I fear that common sense and logic does not apply to dust all the scrubs just dont want challenge thus they do not want anything that could challenge them. a PLC buff would mean that the scubs have to adapt and use brain. |

was thinkn it was more like a rpg . long reload,1 shot av but wtf charge up and arcing shot and it travel time is bs hell i bet a scout could out run it . what the hell were they thinkn when they made it . fiz bfg hits for 3500 damage and plus 256% on the magic spot |

People are forgetting that the PLC has a 1.5 seconds "lock time" in which after you fire the PLC, you can't do ****.
Then the weapon switch time, and then the time it takes to put out another shot, you're looking at around 2.5 seconds between each shot.
That brings down the DPS down to 1000 if EVERYTHING is done right to the milisecond, and after two shots it has to go through the full 3.5 seconds reload time, EACH.
So excuse me, but even if the PLC did 2000 damage per shot, it wouldn't be OP using a commando.

I am too tired to again mention all the PLC issues again. I have done it plenty of times, once I even got a blue answer aka "we know, SOON TM", nothing changed after months and I simply gave up. |

Yes, vehicles have both shields and armor, but you need to look at what it has more of, and use the correct weapon. Also, try to either tag-team, or work with a suit that can apply 2 types of damage (flux+swarms, PLC+AV-nade).

unfortunately, with the reload and DELAY after firing it you hit ~200 dps with that thing AGAINST SHIELDS.
and then you have to be close, aim ahead against moving vehicles and hit. if you manage this then there is still a chance that one of the following bugs happen: non registering hits, ghost projectiles, bugged reloads that shoot an instant projectile that deals no damage. |

To be honest refusing to buff a weapon just because one suit gets a bonus to it is stupid. Although I agree that damage is not the only way to buff a weapon this shouldn't be off the table just because one suit gets a bonus to this weapon...as this weapon can be used on any suit and therefore should be viable on any suit.
