The flaylock is classed as an explosive weapon, not a projectile weapon, hence no bonus. |

I mean it's actual weapons profile / bracket, hyrbid, projectile, laser etc. It's in the explosives category so doesn't get the projectile bonus from the assault. |

It explodes and has a splash radius.
Projectile is conventional metal bullets. I know technically anything fired is a projectile even if its a bottle rocket or a stone from a slingshot but in this case it does not apply.

Ok lets try this another way, fit a combat rifle (projectile weapon) in the light weapon slot of the minmatar assault and join a game, notice the clip size changes.
Then fit a mass driver (explosive weapon) in the light weapon slot and join a game, notice the clip size doesn't change.
Fit a submachine gun in the sidearm slot, it changes.
Fit a flaylock, it doesn't.
Different weapon profiles, explosive is not projectile and doesn't get the bonus. |

Sadly the +1 per level to explosive minmatar weapons didn't make it...
So your assault bonus isn't applying because it doesn't exist as planned

they should just change the bonus into 5% per level for projectiles and explosives.
8 rounds MD (base proto DPS with DIRECT HITS ~330, after factoring in reload it is ~232 DPS) and 4 rounds flaylocks (base proto DPS with DIRECT HITS ~378, after factoring in reload it is ~175 DPS and a whole clip cannot kill a proto suit at all) arent over the top at all. |
