[Concept] The "Purifier SMG": an accurate high accuracy, low recoil Amarr SMG. The longer you fire continuously, the more the weapon's rate of fire increases; this means you start with low damage per second, but it gradually increases as you keep firing (similar to the laser rifle). The weapon should also have heat buildup and overheat, and the increasing rate of fire should make the heat buildup and overheat happen faster; this means burst firing to reset the rate of fire to its initial level is a good strategy to avoid overheating, but also means you have to sacrifice the DPS-gain. The increasing rate of fire from continuous fire should also severely decrease the weapon's accuracy.
Here is a video of a weapon with a similar mechanic to get a better idea of what I am proposing.
[Stats (standard)] Damage profile: laser (+20% damage to shields, -20% damage to armor)
Range (optimal/effective): 35/50 meters
Damage per shot: 30
Initial rate of fire (ROF): 600 rounds per minute
Initial damage per second (DPS): 300
ROF rate of increase: 10% increase in rate per second, or 60 more ROF per second
Heat-buildup and overheat: overheats after 4 seconds of continuous fire, without Amarr assault or commando
Overheat feedback damage: 35
Overheat seize time: 3.5 seconds
DPS right before overheat (4 seconds without Amarr assault or commando): ~420
Average DPS: ((1 second = 300, 2s = 330, 3s = 360, 4s = 420) / 4) = 352.5, pretty close to the Minmatar SMG's
Magazine size/battery capacity: 65 rounds
Recoil: low
Initial accuracy: high
Accuracy right before overheat (4 seconds without Amarr assault): low
Because of the massive multiplying effect of the increasing ROF, the damage increment from standard to advanced, and from advanced to prototype should be very small compared to other weapons; perhaps a 2.5% increase in base damage per tier.
*These numbers are only preliminary and meant to be used as an example, focus on the general idea, and not the stats.
This is meant to be a very dangerous weapon, both to the user and to the targets. The initial low DPS means the user starts out with a disadvantage, but much like the laser rifle, continuous fire will reward the user the DPS advantage at the cost of potential paralyzing overheat. It can acheive very high DPS, but the initial low DPS, and the risks involved with the ROF/DPS-increasing continuous fire balances it in my opinion.
[Apppearance] Number 4 or 6 from this, or something even more exotic-looking yet visually distinct enough from other Dust weapons.

Overheat Factor, the fact it needs to be close to the overheat to make any damage, low dps at the begining AND the 20% penality to armor would make this weapon a suicide weapon. WAY more dangerous for the one who use it than the ennemy. Seriously why people thinks Amarr weapons needs to be a **** more dangerous for the user than the ennemy ? If you want a suicide button no need to create weapon for it. Only 4 sec of fire ? With very low dps ? So...you miss your last sec shots you lose 80% of your BurstDPS AND got stunned.... seriosuly ?
I mean "It's very dangerous for the user and makes low dps, and the extra dps at the end is negated by the Armor penality of 20%, but hey why not ? Duuuude....."
Seriously what the penality of the other races ? Amarr : -Overheat -Can kill the user, stun him for 6 seconds. -Twice more PG to fit and Max CPU to fit. - With actual meta, almost a permanent 20% damage nerf. -Low DPS (laser rifle) if not taking extra risk getting extra close to overheat.
Caldari : -Extra Low charge time. Gallente : -..... Minmatarr : -..... Nothing, but even more they have bonuses, like extra fitting reduction.
Now let's see weapons : Amarr : 3 -ScR -ScP -Laser Rifle Caldari : 8 + Vehicules - Rail rifle -Nova knife -Pistol -Swarm -Forge -Magsec -Sniper rifle -AV grenades Gallente : 5 + Vehicules -Assault Rifle -Shotgun -Pistol -Plasma Cannon -Flux Minmatarr : 6 -Combat rifle -SMG -Flaylock -HMG -Mass driver - Locus grenades
WHY SO MUCH HATE ? I mean we have almost no wepaons and they all kill the user ? What the **** ? |

+1 sounds like a good idea. Though, I'd make the ROF linked to the heat rather than just how long you keep the trigger down meaning that, with good heat management, you can make it a lot more deadly.

I think you're seriously overlooking the positives, it only starts with 50 less initial DPS than he regular SMG, but has a maximum DPS that is 70 points more than the regular SMG, 420 DPS is more than the damn Duvolle AR's DPS (Duvolle has 412.5 DPS). 420 DPS maximum, and that's for players NOT using Amarr assault or Amarr commando; either of these suits would lead to much higher DPS potential.
The extreme damage potential of Amarr weapons justify them being doube-edged swords to me. My suits and weapons are Amarr because I really enjoy the Amarr weapons, so I wouldn't suggest something for them that I thought would be a detriment.

Also, the Caldari heavy weapon (forge gun) and the Minmatar heavy weapon (HMG) are distinct ad unique from each other; there is no reason the Amarr heavy weapon has to be a ripoff of an existing heavy weapon, it should be distinct like the current heavy weapons are from each other.
