I am constantly watching horror movies for a couple reasons:
1. I would appreciate a horror movie that ACTUALLY horrifies me.
2. I enjoy yelling/screaming/laughing at stupid people get killed. "DON'T YOU FLIPPING RECITE THOSE WORDS IN LATIN OUT LOUD DUMBASS!"
3. Meh... I had another reason but I forget.
The best horror movie I have recently watched was "Contracted". It was supremely disturbing, but had a wonderful twist at the end and it was kind horrifying. I haven't squealed in true girl form in a long time, so it was pleasant surprise!

If reading subtitles doesn't turn you off of watching, might I recommend any Japanese horrors?

Yeah! Japanese horrors would probably be better...
When I watch anime I watch it with subtitles.
Much more expressive. It's beautiful actually.

I've watched others but I can't remember them properly. The Japanese have a way with horror that is very expressive.

Thank you! I'll definitely check them out... Aren't Ju-On and Ju-On 2 the Japanese versions/original "The Grudge"?

EDIT: Another J-Horror movie that I recommend is Dark Water.

More thriller than horror. Psychological films that really throw people. Big Darren Aranofsky fan btw. Can't recommend any scary horror films as the last "horror" film I watched was "Thankskilling". |
