Those are both terrible and unfitting. The Matari one should be Surtr or a sword-thing like Zweihander or Estoc. The Amarr, let's go with Deacon or Bishop?

I like this, the minmatar names are based of nordic culture so I think a fitting MMC name would be the Skeid, which was a mid sized longship used to ferry troops.
The Amarr, id settle for names like the Jihad, Creationism School Bus, Lolfactory Express etc etc

A gladius is a sword-thing. It's so much a sword-thing that it's an entire sword.

Okay. But Zweihander is German and Estoc French. So... nothing really gained with those suggestions.

Not really. Minmatar ship names come from 3 things. Swords, Norse mythos, and Storms. Estoc and Zweihander are both swords. Gladius is far too roman, Minnies are more central/eastern/northern europe than southern. The gallente are greek and roman.
