Dust 514 colony battles "High level content"
(for the sake of simplicity i will mostly be referring to the colony battle system that im going to talk about in this post as npc driven for dust players, how ever it is conceivable that eve players could fit into the system as running there own colony's. How ever i dont know enough about eve to make suggestions on how it should be implemented.)
My idea is that the 4 factions of eve have colony's in the outer regions of there space, harder to protect areas specifically.
these colony's could be the perfect staging arera for the following
-pvp &/or pve -city & urban battle zones -new vehicle/infantry dynamic, ie to operate in a city or urban arera as a alternative to the current open plan staging areas - being a civilian zone there would be defense system witch could act as a instrument for dynamic development of the battle or point of interest - "high level" colony could have atmospheric defence system preventing the deployment of mmc's or mercenary, the way to breach such a defnce would lie in a orbital elevator being the only safe way down.
contract would be issued to mercs to either defend or capture a threatened or disputed colony planet with an attacking team either issued order to capture or destroy, in witch case a teams contract could be demand the capture of a colony if failing this objective a second wave would be deployed to destroy.
"high level colony's" The idea is that the battle would initiate in space two ships would launch forces to take control of an orbital elevator the success of witch decides who is attacking in the next phase.
in the event of a colony only being accessible by orbital elevator one contract will be issued as a defend order for the orbital elevator, failing the defense will issue a second contract to defend the colony directly.
in essence creating two games for two different teams, simply put a public match system with more interesting content for players who are not necessarily the best, but are not ignorant on the games mechanics.
this would not be a replacement for the current modes in dust but it would allow for different staging areras and battle dynamics then the current theme of maps.
i might add more to this in time, but this is the conecept i hope it is given some consideration. as a side note it would also work as "secondary game" if & when dust moves to ps4. ie have the current system running on dust but slowly move to active development to the ps4. (just a side note the important thing is the game mode idea)
