I am playing public matches solo this morning. I do this. Friends might not be on, faction warfare channels quiet. And I like to generate income.

Plus, I only have about 30 minutes before the oncoming real life train leaves this station. Hit the buttons - que it up - skirmish...load-load-load, spawn to ground, check the team(load load), 2 man sqd, 1 man sqd, 12 no sqd --- this is what I do.

I run a solo corp. it's a dream of mine to be a dust entrepreneur YELLOW CAB Services, good dropship pilot, decent logi -- just what the average 3-5 strong squad needs as an edge in this next match. Call that guy! It keeps me going. It's what I do.

I join the 2 man squad but don't bother with voice. No time, just a pub, fly cheap and stay in the black.

Call in the gorgan with scanner, afterburner, heavy repper and ST rockets - around 50,000 isk. Blue suit ( 900 isk). It's what I do

Find the squaddies easy because thier using squad orders ( the blue doughnut we all love). Hit the scanner and loop thier area lighting the way...+15 +15... They see me, I drop to deck and scoop the pair. Things get better.

Flying from objective to objective, dodging tanks, swarms and small arms, all the while in comms silence - using observation of each other with our shared purpose the three random blueberries shifted the match's inertia. I finished 12th with 300 WP, my squaddies were mid field around 800. I made about 50,000 profit after the loss of one airframe and the match felt like a good one.

That felt like a fine match. Rare but achievable. Random players interacting in support of each other in what felt more like a sandbox.

 Just sharing.

This is what I like to hear. I had a similar story of a heavy and I (a cko scout) cover home point the whole match taking on barrage after barrage of reds he would take out the heavys and I'd take care of medium and scouts. We held it down whole match and won. Twas a gg

I stay because I always find something new to do.

Lately, I've been messing around with swarms. In the past, I've done absolutely everything at one point or another.

Yeah swarms are what I'm working on at the moment, they're *almost viable at 5

It's sweet when you find comradery amongst strangers! It's rare but surprisingly refreshing. Also, your valor shows that you can make game-changing moves, swaying the battle in favor of your team without being rewarded in WP. The WP system can't take into account the long-term strategy-level actions that you demonstrated that day. For now, we'll have to be satisfied with the intrinsic reward of accomplishment. Nice work and hope to see you out there.

 Actual combat wise, you're correct.
