So from what I recall there was a 7:1 conversion rate between EVE:DUST ISK.
I have also heard that CHICAGOCUBS4EVER has ~50b ISK (not trying to single him out, just using him as an example of (potentially) the wealthiest player).
Would multiplying all prices and all incomes by a factor of seven restore the economy somewhat?
CUBS would still be the wealthiest player, but his ISK would have a current value of the obscene 7bn (in current terms) rather than the truly ridiculously obscene 50bn it is now.
The players (and there are quite a few of them) with 500+m would have an effective worth of 70m; a reasonable sum, but not enough to protostomp forever without care. Essentially what I'm advocating is a soft ISK wipe: keep the ISK, but inflate it dramatically.
Obviously all assets and wallets would remain unchanged. The side effect of such a change would be negating the danger of introducing EVE ISK Into the DUST economy, considering that both would be of comparable value. After all, 50bn isn't really all that much money in EVE terms.
Presumably such a change would come after ISK faucets are rationalised somewhat.

Dust does not have an economy people should care about. Even when the player market shows up. Grinding resources is a part of MMO's. If you can't grind ISK (or other MMO currencies) then don't play MMO type games.
I don't want CCP doing anything but fixing bugs. I don't want economy balances. I don't want new shi!t. I want bugs fixed. I think 99% of community would rather see 90% of the bugs fixed then a fkn player market. |

I have to agree here...
fix the bugs, give us pve and other content, balance this shite... then if cubs is still to rich, determine whether or not that even matters... I'm guessing it wont, but if one person, or a handful of people's wallets really matter then figure that out.
honestly if this game ever gets good, and hundreds of thousands of people play it, there will always be a minority of mercs who are far richer than the rest, and I've never seen that effect the stability of an mmo before.
this game makes me sad....
