I am in need of a tanker bar. A place to go to ask questions about tanking and discuss fits and skill trees. Please inform me of these channels so I can get my tank alt into there.
Or if there are none, I just created the channel DUST TANK. Join up if you are a tanker and we can make it into a tank stomp gathering place. |

Tanks R Us is the only one I know of.
'Honey Badger' used to be busy, but all of its residents have basically quit at this point.
As for the forum warriors, O'Dell and pegasis don't seem to be forum active at the moment, Pearson is banned and Void doesn't tank. I think the only (constructive) dedicated tankers remaining on the forums these days are Tebu Gan and True Adamance (I definitely don't consider myself a dedicated tanker anymore) and True has an odd playstyle (veeeery squadbased).
Ask your questions here; someone might run across them who can give you a hand.
Who knows? Maybe Taka and Spkr will feel in a giving mood today :P

There's the "Tanks R Us" Channel. Don't know how many "good" tankers are in there, but there is quite a few people in that channel.

What is there left to talk about? Grab a no sp mil tank with mil dmg mod and mil hardener and a mil rail and you're off.
Simply now really. Tanking isn't a thing anymore. The TANKOPHOBES won. Ironically, they now grab tanks as their weapon of choice because they don't have to spend one point to get full power over the poor, weak infantry they pretended to represent.

hey I spent a lot SP to play the whack-A-scout mini game with my rail gun between tank fights.
btw blue dots I tank for you to make sure you guys can have a good game tank free.
red dots you are target practice, so I don't get bored waiting for the next tank challenger to show up, I really do consider you a mini-game, you are not a threat, you are not a challenge, you are flappy bird. |

Funny, because I destroyed 5 of those people tonight in a 50 clone ambush match with my protosoma, went 16/0 and led the leaderboards with 2330 points. Almost got an orbital to myself in a 50 clone match just killing people and tanks. Do that with no skills. |

Lately I have been learning to use the flying coffins and money sinks, the assault drop ships. Once the Heavy and Medium suits are finished getting Nerf Hammered I might be able to go do Logi once again. 
Let us know what you want to know.
My standard tank is a Maddy*. All Militia Gear and Gun. Cheap enough while only 30K more than Soma. And a little more survivable in my opinion, your mileage will vary.
You might check the rookie training grounds forum. I haven't look in there in a long time but before they renamed it there was some useful information available.

* Uprising 1.0, 14 May, 2013 broke shield tanks so badly I didn't skill into them thus I focus on armor tanks even though I have the shield skills leveled up.

I like to work with my squad so as to out play better tankers.
Went up against Himiko the other day, blew him up once, got blown up once....... was great fighting a skilled and active tankers with a decent fit....
I will say he got very lucky on that second encounter, reversing back the way he did really put my crew in a bad position which cost us....
I'm pretty much done tanking too unless the Amarr HAV comes out..... not enough reward to working and fitting your tank so as to allow gunners and team work and way too much emphasis on FoTM solo builds than are grossly over powered for what they are.
My advice....try missiles. They rock.....and are a **** ton of fun.
