I'm not entirely sure how the WPs work, but I believe it gets you WP for the percent of health remaining that a vehicle has. Here's what I observed: It takes 3 volleys from a swarm that I use to take down a starter fit LAV. For EVERY volley, I get +75 WP, with the LAV destruction WP on top of that.
If I use something stronger against an LAV, like a forge or a rail, I get the +75 for every hit, but it takes less hits, so I get less WP
For dropships and HAVs, it takes increasingly more volleys to get a single +75, even though dropships are harder to hit and HAV are definitely more of a threat.
In some cases, most notably with plasma cannons and large blasters for reasons I haven't yet figured out, I may NEVER get the +75, even when destroying an HAV.
So basically, unless you want us to be scavenging LAVs for WPs, the system needs to be based on damage dealt rather than a percentage.

The fact that it takes three volleys to kill a LAV is down right sad.

I to am a Proto Swarm Minmitar Commando and I somewhat know what ur saying. I think its somethign to do with percentages of dmg, and i notice whenever i pop there shields i get points also. I 2 shot lavs and i get roughly 200-250 points for it. and I 3 shot militia tanks and i get roughly 300 so idk what it is either.
I do think its a percentage based somehow but who knows what ccp set the calculation to be haha
What is the use of fighting if you haven't got a tolerable planet to fight over?

My point was just to say that I'm not using a standard swarm.
I had no idea it was that bad even at proto.

Skilled into them last night actually, figured I'd at least be able to farm LAV's

Farming would-be road killers in LAVs is lucrative business. +75 (drives away, reps) +75 (drives away, reps) +75 (drives away, reps) on to infinity. It's actually disadvantageous to destroy them most of the time.
Tanks and derps seem to be less predictable. I would guess it has to do with a percentage of a vehicle's primary tank. I've unloaded on Maddies with the PlC over and over, taking out their shields repeatedly but never getting any WP, while whacking a Gunnlogi will usually +75 around 50% shields, which in terms of 1-to-1 hp is usually close to the same amount of shield as I've taken out on a Madrugar. |

Armour LAVs are the old Logi LAVs.
To be fair, it takes 3 shots from a MLT rail to kill a armour LAV. So they are just really tough in general. I wish AV nades got a bonus 100 percent dmg vs LAVs and dropships.

This backs up my old thread saying that base eHP needs a nerf while modules need a buff.
Let LAVs that are actually fit stay tough, but none of this cheap-o/free bullshit.

Myself i use a forge gun and it seems to me that i get warpoints when i start hitting armor. But then again i seem to encounter mostly armor tanks and my first shot wipes out the shields. |

Yeah, you don't get any points for damaging shields. Sure would be nice if we did though.
