Something similar has been posted before, but I can't find the original thread.
To help with the new player experience, and hopefully encourage some new players to stick around, we should scale the SP cap to give new players a bit of a better chance.
Just for example
- First 1 million SP: No weekly cap
- 1 Million - 5 Million: Double the current cap
- 5 Million - 10 Million: 1.5x the current cap
- 10 Million SP and up: Current cap.
In terms of the new player experience, I think this is almost as important as better matchmaking. New players face enough frustrations with this game between getting pub stomped relentlessly, and not having a clue how to spend SP in the first place. I think we can toss them a bone here.
Thoughts on this?

Thoughts on this? As a person who has grinded to 48 mil SP I support this. I think it's important to bring the newer players along quicker.

+1. Need a way for competent new players to get up to a competitive level quickly if they can put in the effort

I disagree, basically giving extra sp will not help a new player... nor will it help with NPE.
Most veterens can make a new character and still pull out 2.0 -3.0 kdrs.

Time in PVE OR a contracts that give rewards like ISK, Equipment and possibly SP would help
Contract examples: Get 5,25,100,500 kills Hack 1,3,10,50,100 objectives ETC
New players need a funnel that guides them to complete certain tasks. SP teaches nothing and therfore will not fix a single thing.
Similar to the feed vs teach a man to fish idea. You are implying that the only reason people who have low skill points are dying often is that they are bad at the game. That is not always the case. The SP component is very large.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.
