And I'm the reason why. I suck, I really really suck. When KB/M was working with raw input I was decent. I hadn't used a DS3 controller in my life until Dust and I suck really really badly with it.
I usually play logistics because I can't aim with the DS3 at all and so my KD ratio is usually like .2 or .12 or something truly abysmal like that.
However if I run a scout suit with cloak and a shotgun something magical happens. My KD ratio goes above 1. Sometimes pretty high above 1. It's not 'cause I have a particular affinity with the shotgun, or am particularly skillful with it. I have lvl 1 in shotguns, scout suits, and cloaks.
The combo itself turns a zero like me into a hero, and anyone with any ability to aim will do far better than me with it.
As a side note please make KB/M play work again for the people like me that play primarily PC games and PC FPS who suck badly with the DS3 controller.

Agreed on the KB/M part, not so much on the others.
The only way to get a kill with a Shotgun is to be within 5m. In order to get that kill, the Shotgun user must either sneak up on you, (in which case he could have done so without the cloak and still gotten the kill), or he needs to attack you from the front, while is an issue of player incompetence.
Shotguns w/Cloak Fields are fine. The only think that needs to be addressed is the ability to fire before the cloak deactivates, which is a glitch and will be fixed inevitably.

Apparently not that hard, or at least easier than most other weapon systems in the game. I have close to zero skill with the DS3 controller and yet I can kill people relatively easily with a shotgun. Also the cloak makes me harder to kill. Both of these together drags my KD up nearly 10x with little to no player skill being involved using militia gear. |

Only problem is the CLOAK. I'm bored of scouts now (I am one). The duration 'on' time is way too long ( like +50% or more ).
I used to sneak without cloak and an unpredictable shotgun and underpowered scout suit for a year...

It's called Aim assist, Try plugging in that KB/M again & enjoy the frustration of every other shot missing by a single pixel. |

Maybe everyone at CCP hates dust as much as eve hates dust so they put things in the game to brake it a little more each month.. Cloaky shotgun, players so wealthy "billions if not trillions" they could and will distroy the player market if it opens, putting fresh out of the academy noobs against proto stompers. Just little things =ƒÿü
