hello to all those who play dust. I'm shamarskii (call me shamar it's cool) and i know this is y first post, so my introduction will be short. furthermore, i may end up double or triple posting depending on how much i end up typing.
Anyway, i am the kind of guy to not take problems and shrug them off. if i have a problem i will state it immediately and will try to rectify it as soon as possible.
now for the main reason of this post. This "channel" is to discuss problems with the game right? so i think posting it here is the best idea.
Dust 514 is broken. In it's simplest form ill say that. now for the details. First thing i will address is the cost of things in the game; beginning with tanks. Tanks are far too cheap for the amount of power it can put out. Say i want a rail tank:
Militia Sica The railgun is included along with a shied booster, cool no prob. its pretty cheap so lets see what else i can buy...
hmm, i want... a hardener so that i can fight well. ill use a shield hardener. afterwards, if i lose shields i would like to be able to regenerate some armor yknow. what about my buddies? i'll add a seat for them. missiles are really strong against infantry after all. oh, not enough pg, ill just get a -- ah ha! now its good!
thats a problem. this tank is all militia gear, it costs 73,770 isk and NO skillpoints. now i can go fight with others, destroy things, and be invulnerable to infantry. how much does a good proto suit cost... hmm about...58k ... just the suit. THE suit is just 16,080 isk less than the militia tank i just built. in other words i just built the ambush's best friend. a cheap tank that can pinch vehicles, kill infantry, and almost be invulnerable.
now say it's me. I pilot a dropship in my squads.
i need to give air support Python pretty fast and agile. got enough CPU to satisfy my needs.
okay, lets get a turret. i need to be able to kill infantry so lets make it missiles. now, say they take out swarms... im gonna need some defensive boost to make up for the little armor i have. alright, now i need to be able to take an onslaught of swarms, and defend myself from those tanks on the ground with their forge gun friends. okay still running smooth. what if i am low on shields in combat? say i want to bring a little buddy with me into combat. Oh no! i cant do that! not enough PG for that. i need complex PG to equip it. hmm alright. i cant skill into upgrades yet so ill just get ammo instead.
this is a HUGE issue. all militia gear for an assault dropship. price is not 100k, 200k but 342,705 isk and skillpoints!! I cannot fight the same tank i made above with this dropship. Just skilling into the assault dropship is stressful enough much less going into a deficit after each battle if i get shot down. sure i can get people with it and instalations but it's weak against tanks.
in the end, it just explains how much firepower i can get from a tank for such a little price. i say adding up all the values of the tank and dividing the cost by it will explain the ability to cost ratio. this is just a value i made up to see the "worth" of the object quickly without using it at all. (this value is only the stats of the fitting, nothing else is included. furthermore, this value is just price / stats. nothing special)
the tank: 9.98 the ship: 66.02
the goal here is to achieve the lowest possible number since this is 1 stat = x isk (1 tank stat is 9.98 isk for example) the issue is the cheapness for a very effective item. if everyone on a team has this tank (until quota reach of course) this can break a match. which is what happens mostly. Tanks -- especially the militia tanks -- are op.

next is cloak. i actually found this to be a great idea until i realized something. scouts now become close to god.
it's like this. say you were just walking along and BOOM shotgun!
thats how it is now. no need for a long story. its just see no one and there's your name in the kill-feed with a shotgun in brackets.
the cloak needs to be rebalanced IMHO. i can cloak and fire while cloaked basically (of course after the first shot the cloak breaks and now visible.) and score a kill or mortally wound you so that i can follow up with another shotgun shot. it is as simple as this: shot delay. So Simple! after turning off the cloak, i should wait before i can get the first shot off. it should also have a delay between how quick it can be engaged after firing.
why i say this? its cause i got shot by a shotgunner, then s/he uncloaked. i fired back. s/he immediately recloaks, runs for a bit and fires again! cloak breaks and s/he's on her way with 50 more warpoints.
The RE on tanks while cloaked is alright to me honestly. Tanks are already op we need to be able to fight back (knowing Forges are broken and we only get two AV grenades now....)

In conclusion of this typing episode. You at CCP please do not let Dust 514 become Cl-ank 514. It's a great game but don't let the numbers fall anymore!
if the bomb truck thing (REs on LAVs) does come out, thats gonna be a sad day. Cause when that comes out, we wont be able to get REs onto tanks (cause wouldnt that mean disabling the stick to vehicle thing from the game?)
