Orbitals are supposed to be a reward for reaching x amount of points. However this reward can also give you most of the points you need for a second orbital.
Logi -> scan field for points Logi -> repping squad leader for points Squad leader -> gets a dozen kills.
Halfway to a second orbital seconds after dropping your first.
Now I ask you the community. is this fair? Do you like how this works or would you like it to be changed?

That being said, it is kinda broken
Yeah, i run an Amarr logi with a mass driver.. what are YOU going to do about it?

It's a valid point. I can make a good argument for points for the kills and points for the scan, as the scan can be very helpful, but yeah, the guardian points for an OB are tough to justify.

What if you get half the points you would normally get from using an Orbital Strike. A kill would be 25 instead of 50. You'd still get points, but not so much to boost you to a second Orbital.
Well, time to go Commando. Fill the Ranks at 703rd.

Orbitals should not award any warpoints. They are an insanely powerful tactical ability, that's reward enough.

My thoughts on Warbarge Strikes from an old thread:
Atiim wrote:I have a better idea.
First, increase the WP required for a Warbarge Strike. These things should be used as "game changers" as opposed to a win button used to exacerbate stomping. The requirements for one are 2500WP simply because squads used to only have 4 people, and there weren't nearly as many ways to earn WP as we have now. Something that can wipe out the entire enemy team should never be this easy.
I do agree with removing the ability to gain WP earned from the Warbarge. The average strike gets about 10 kills, which leads to about 500WP. If you have the squad members repair the leader that squad can earn up to 2250WP from the Guardian action, and when you have everyone scan the area before dropping the Warbarge, the squad can earn 750WP from Intel Kill Assists.
That alone is 3575WP, which can grant a squad yet another Warbarge Strike and still leave them with a spare 1075WP (that's half of the WP required for another Warbarge Strike mind you).
However, I do believe there should be a small reward for using the Warbarge Strike, as you are still contributing to the team by using one. I think 100-150WP for Warbarge Deployment would seem fair.
Atiim wrote:Awry Barux wrote:^this, I was going to go do the math but then it was already done for me.
In a decent dom match I can earn an OB solo, without squad orders or using anything resembling teamwork. In a great game, I can earn two solo. If that doesn't demonstrate that it's too low, I don't know what does.
Increase it to 5k WP minimum, I'd be happier with 7.5k. OB kills should not reward WP, that's like cashing in your chips and getting bonus chips just for cashing in. I'd say 7200 WP would be the best. That way every member of the squad would have to make at least 1200 WP to get one.

Now I ask you the community. is this fair? Do you like how this works or would you like it to be changed? And if the SLeader jump in to Dropship full of people, everyone in will get assist kills for that orbital.
